we've just won a tournament against 3 of the best teams in the world, like what months ago? After the 30's Italy didn't win again til the 80's, there's an almost 50 year gap. Personally I don't necessarily think it's always appropriate to look at history for predictions. I mean Spain weren't all that great in the years leading up to 2008, but then became unstoppable.
And this Brazil team is definitely better than the one that showed up in 2010. I wouldn't be confident enough to say they'll win, but probably to the semis at least.

i'm talking about currently. uruguay was good a few years ago but now they're somewhat mediocre. argentina will never win anything with that defense of theirs and you already know how i feel about brazil. don't bring up world cups from centuries ago, no one cares.
