I know what you mean but I think Argetina is much more superior now.
I think it's the end of good ol' Brazil.
The end of good ol' Brazil? Surely you jest... Brazil can never be counted out prematurely - they'll just be good young Brazil;way too large a talent pool to choose from... so much quality.
True that Jack. Time and time again they have choked against the Brazilians. Doesn't look like its stopping anytime soon either.
This is generally correct, however they didn't choke against Brazil in the Olympic Semifinals; obviously not their proper team - by any stretch of the imagination - but they did show a very promising contingent of youngsters. We'll just have to wait and see how they develop... maybe it's the start of something big.
Italy is just sad. They are pretty bad without Totti,Del Piero and old Pirlo. Now I see them, dare I say, pretty weak with Pepe,Di Natale and Co.
I'm a supporter of La Nazionale (Italien), and obviously I would like better results, but I think this team could rebound very quickly. They lost to the European champions in a shoot out, with a team that was clearly too old. If you watched that game as well, you would remember that a phenomenal save by Casillas on Camo was really the only gilt edged opportunity for either team in that game. By 2010, we could have a very nice mix going... and Italia could be a team with a lot of flash. This team likely wouldn't be ready for 2010, but in fantasy land, with my black and white goggles on, I would love to see something like:
Giovinco - Iaquinta - Rossi
Marchisio - Pirlo - De Rossi
Santon - Chiello - Santacroce - Maggio
BUFFON
Young, I know, and not a hope in hell that it would ever turn out like this, but damn would it be entertaining football. It would be even better if Rossi and Santacroce were wearing our kit by that time...haha. Ahhh... enough dreaming though. Shit, the game has started...
