Sturaro out, Marchisio in
Stefano Sturaro and Giorgio Chiellini are out of the Juventus visit to Atalanta, but Claudio Marchisio returns. “Sturaro has a problem with his big toe which means he is unable to put on a football boot at the moment,” explained Coach Max Allegri in his Press conference.

Chiellini limped off during Wednesday’s 3-0 Coppa Italia defeat to Inter, while Martin Caceres is out for the rest of the season.

Juventus squad for Atalanta: Buffon, Khedira, Zaza, Marchisio, Morata, Pogba, Hernanes, Alex Sandro, Barzagli, Cuadrado, Mandzukic, Lemina, Bonucci, Padoin, Dybala, Asamoah, Rugani, Neto, Lichtsteiner, Evra, Rubinho, Pereyra

Chiellini unlikely for Bayern

Giorgio Chiellini looks unlikely to recover in time for Bayern Munich, forcing Juventus to set up a new Champions League defence.

The central defender of the Bianconeri suffered yet another thigh injury at the end of February and is recovering very slowly.

Yesterday he did not take part in the team's training, and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport the odds of seeing him against the German team are very slim.

Coach Max Allegri hasn't completely given up hope of having him back in time for the match on Wednesday evening, but he is considering alternative solutions.

Juventus may field a four-man defence the way they did in the first game against Bayern, with Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci as central defenders, and Stephen Lichtsteiner and Patrice Evra on the flanks.

Alternatively he may stick with a three-man defence and add Daniele Rugani to the centre, but that solution seems unlikely.

Report: Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio suffers calf strain, will miss trip to Bayern Munich
By Danny Penza

Here's something you don't want to hear less than 48 hours from Juventus kicking off a decisive European game against one of the best teams still remaining in the Champions League.

#BayernJuve: stiramento al polpaccio per #Marchisio. Out per la trasferta in Germania. @GoalItalia
— Romeo Agresti (@romeoagresti) March 14, 2016

Rough translation for all of the non-Italian speakers/readers out there: Claudio Marchisio has a calf strain. He's out for the trip to Germany.

Yep, according to the well-connected Romeo Agresti, Juventus' most important midfielder is out for Wednesday night's trip to Germany to face Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie. There has been no confirmation or mention of an injury from Juventus' end as of Monday turning to Tuesday in Italy. Juve's Monday training report had no mention of any kind of injury updates — be it the status of Giorgio Chiellini or Marchisio dealing with this new calf injury.

So now, with it looking like Chiellini won't be taking part in Wednesday's second leg and Marchisio reportedly set to miss out, two of Juve's most important pieces could very well be watching from Turin rather than stepping on the Allianz Arena field. That's, as you can probably suspect, is far from what you want to hear about with so much riding on this 90 minutes of game time.

Let's just hope that this report of Marchisio being injured is a little off the mark. It wouldn't be the first time we got an injury scare and it turned out to not be much of anything at all.
fuck me sideways.

In the last few years nothing from this team has made me more mad then this training staff. Actually not much has made me mad but what the fuck is this training staff doing and how is this allowed to continue?

Ohh nooo!!!

Come on Marchi and Mario!!! We expected Chiello to miss out, but not these two, please make it guys!!
I would still stick with 352 and play Rugani than 4 at the back..
