De Ceglie in hospital

The only negative note after the match against Napoli is the injury to
Paolo De Ceglie in the middle of the first half.

The young player from Valle D’Aosta was taken to the Fornaca Clinic in
Turin and will remain under observation for 24 hours out of precaution
following a strong blow to the thorax.

Get well soon, Paolo!

Indeed.

These things happen when you are a defender, since you frequently have to put your body on the line.

You better hope it hasn't spoiled his good looks. ;)

Juve doctor under pressure

Juventus club doctor Riccardo Agricola could be facing the sack as the Old Lady's injury woes continue.

The Bianconeri have suffered more than their fair share of injuries this season and a plethora of stars have been out of action for significant periods.

According to La Stampa, the Turin giants are ready to point the finger at club medic Agricola.

The paper claims that sporting director Alessio Secco and chief executive Jean-Claude Blanc are discussing a possible replacement for Agricola.

The doctor has been at the club since the beginning of the 1990s but his days at Vinovo could be numbered.

I don't wanna jinx it but isn't it ironic how our most injury prone player for years (Del Piero) hasn't been [seriously] injured since like 2004-05? :delpiero:

Long stop for De Ceglie

Claudio Ranieri will have to do without Paolo De Ceglie for a long period. The injury suffered during the match against Napoli will force the defender from Valle D’Aosta to a stop of many weeks.

The tests which De Ceglie underwent during the day at the Fornaca clinic, where he has been recovered since last night, have shown the damage to the fourth and sixth ribs on the right and the complete fracture of the fifth rib on the same side. This fractured allowed the penetration of a small amount of air into pleural cavity which is known as pneumo-thoraic trauma.

Such a prognosis is relative, apart from the objective clinical evaluations, also to the specific guidelines with regards to pneumo-thoraic trauma.
The player will remain at the Fornaca clinic for a period of up to 5 or 7 days.

Just shows he really was 'in the wars'!
 Poor Paolo! I hope he fully recovers from this; - asap!
