of course I bloody well know about it!
"He joined the Hitler Youth aged 14, shortly after membership was made compulsory in 1941."
damn! the 14 year old boy joined the hitler youth, when it was already required?? damn! must have been a serious jew-killer!
"He deserted in April 1944 and spent a few weeks in a prisoner of war camp"
staunch nazi that one...

Burke, I don't get you...why make such a stupid comment, and then back it up with a link to an article that makes it quite clear how different the situation was from what you said.. to call Bennedict XVI a Nazi is just stupid

You don't get me?

You are a liverpool fan.

@ Burke-glad I got your usual well-thought out rebutal...

@ Fabi, of course, and I admit the church has made serious mistakes before, but my point is that the church has had time to overcome those mistakes. basically, I'm just saying that the church is older and wiser that you :D

Its about the post you wrote using sex as a metaphore.

You called it being "in the know" and that it made you happy. Is this just the comfort you get from your religion or is it something else? What is it exactly you know that makes you so happy?:)

Please explain deep.

Nicht Ihr Freund.

Nowhere does it say we have to take the Bible literally in every occasion.

The RC Church teaches that each biblical writing is readable in three senses: literal, metaphorical and analogical (may have that last one wrong).

I just don't really like you, so why make a huge response to someone I don't care about?

dunno....maybe then you wouldn't look as stupid.

@ Zlatan-human weakness is present in everyone, including priests. anyway, why bring that up? you know that's bloody obnoxious and insulting. I'm sure if someone made a similar remak on this forum about Muslims (the only religion that seems particularly present) on this forum? there would be an uproar I can imagine. but oh, if it's catholics, who cares.

In religion.

Without getting sappy, the deeper I delve into my Faith, the more convinced I am that God (an omnipotent being, who would exist without ever having made me) truly loves me (not in the abstract, but as me--Lou) and chose to make me, out of his great love for me. That I have worth therefore, above anything in the entire world---as does each human being.

Which is pretty humbling and mind blowing at the same time. :)

Well, muslims get enough critisizm in todays world as it s, so we'll cut them some slack here ;)

Why tho? Why would he create you and love you?

true, but for everyone who insults them there is an apologist. or they just issue a Fatwa calling for the death of whoever insulted their religion :D

just kidding on that last one btw-don't take that as an example of how I feel about Islam/Muslims ;)

my point though is that catholics are just insulted, and insulted some more. no non-Catholics try and defend them, whereas plenty of non-Muslims will defend/argue for Muslims
