Without getting sappy, the deeper I delve into my Faith, the more convinced I am that God (an omnipotent being, who would exist without ever having made me) truly loves me (not in the abstract, but as me--Lou) and chose to make me, out of his great love for me. That I have worth therefore, above anything in the entire world---as does each human being.

Which is pretty humbling and mind blowing at the same time.

Ok. Ahh, Its tough for me to continue this conversation and still be polite, but ill take a risk and ask anyway. Do you think that you have had a hard life or an easy one? If u dont mind me asking

Nowhere does it say we have to take the Bible literally in every occasion.

The RC Church teaches that each biblical writing is readable in three senses: literal, metaphorical and analogical (may have that last one wrong).

Analytical, and okay, whatever.

Shadowfax didn't prove anything. No-one os perfect, that's all. Catholics DO sin obviously, and being Catholic doesn't mean being perfect. Catholicism is a system of beliefs based on the basic tenet that we as humans are IMPERFECT, and therefore one of the most important facets of Catholicism is the effort to be as good as we can be, in the knowledge that salvation is in the understanding and repenting of our sins, not perfection, as perfection is impossible for humans

we DON'T hate gays! homosexuality (the act, not the people) is against our beliefs. abortion and birth control are also against Catholic beliefs. simply put-if you believe in God, believe in a process created by god for reasons sanctioned by god, would you then try and interfere with that process?
