I find it pretty cool that I can understand a little bit of spoken Maltese. The Arabic content in it sounds like a Bastardized-Tunisian variant. Even Tunisian-proper itself is a weird dialect, although it's easy to understand for me as a Middle-Eastern Arab.

Where can I read more about Maltese language history? (other than Wiki?)
