Canna is not our problem, he is doing ok for his age, what more do you want from him ? The problem is our collective defending especially from headers at set pieces, look at the goals Bayern scored tonight, and Inter and Bordeaux (home and away). This is the problem our coach has to resolve and he failed...completely !
You don't want players that "do ok for their age". You need players that do well period.

What I want from him is to get the hell out, and not stick around for a job in the office. No more defensively-oriented Italians running things from a coaching or management perspective at this club.

And he was a top notch defender!
With him we became worse in defending than we ever were. If he made even our defense worse (and defending is his main strength) how can we expect to give us more in other parts of the team?

from the players alen said

grosso = should not have been bought, he's old and awful

cannavaro = just simply put, is shit

del piero = should not be playing

legro = well he doesn't start

camoranasi = again old and should not start

we should not have bought melo especially for 24 million

with that money we could have bought some good defenders.

And for heaven's sake why isn't Givovinco playing ?

we do have some young good players

giovinco, deigo , chelini , sissoko , marchisio

but it's the older ones which are letting us down

serie a is dead. Im just gonna have to face it. Were simply an average league now that play dated football.

Well, yes, of course, I would like Vidic in our defence now ! But you can't have that, so let's sort out the basics, like how to defend corners and crosses :shifty:

but apart from not wanting cannavaro ... you can surely come up with an alternative centre back we could have got with the same money ? aaah, i see you will tell me now, that we better be off without cannavaro at all and the team from last year. so you like chiellini and legro or in the case of injury you really love to see some more of this knezevic ?
I'd much rather have Canna out for a game like this than Chiellini.

Luisao was free a couple years ago. At least he had some legs still in him, not being a fucking grandpa.

That will also be a complete revolution, Fred.

It's impossible to sell them all or force them to retire. They have contracts, fat contracts, and we won't be able to sell all of them. I never had that in my mind.

But simply stopping to depend on them will be a revolution. Sell some, keep some, bench those who OBVIOUSLY can't keep up with the football played in Europe. That will also be getting rid of them. Not giving them guaranteed football, finding players who will give us speed at least and who'll better fit in the new style (which means that they should know how to play football, not just to be a Molinaro).

The present is terrible and we can't build the future with 32-26 old players.
Revolution is what Madrid did this season, what Chelsea did with Abramovich, what Barcelona did in the summer when Laporta took over.

Simply not depending on 2 or 3 players is not what i'd call revolution. But i guess definitions differ from one person to the other.

I do not think they should just be banished to the bench. If they play well enough they can keep their places. They just do not have that "untouchable" status anymore.

Diego:

“The attitude was very different against Inter. We had that unity and desire to win. ”
Nope.
It's just that Inter are an Italian team that also can't keep up with the new ideas in football and are playing the same old-fashioned football.

Even with the same "attitude, unity and desire" that we showed against Inter, we'd have surely lost tonight.

may i be first to say

 to diego for manning up!

good to hear he isnt delusional
can i sincerely say fuck diego? he fucking smiled and tried to cover that smile. I really don't know the reason, maybe because ciro will leave and we know that those 2 didn't get so well along. But if his ass is moving in the winter i'm gonna hate his guts more than ronaldo's.

The only reason we lost in my opinion is because we took Del boy off for Poulsen. That seriously just ended everything and as soon as Ferrera actually did it, I knew we were going to lose

Who said anything about him leaving?
