1. Because in the Bayern game, even though Zlatan's penetration was excellent, he did not provide an assist. He put up a shot that Kahn should have easily handled. Del Piero was good enough to be in the right place at the right time, managing to avoid the offside trap. But we are talking about one season here, a season that was interupted by injuries, and was a season were DP felt that the club might actualy sell him and replace him with another player. You have to admit that tis was a very hard season for Del Piero, physicaly and mentally, but he still managed to deliver the goods when he was counted on.

2. Concerning the assisst, I can't remember which defender was facing DP, but I know for sure that first, DP tried to pass the ball, it hit a defender, bounced upwards, while it was going down he bicycled it.

I think you mentioned Del Piero as being our 6th best player THIS (one ) season. How was Del Piero last season? I think this makes it 2 seasons right?
When we reached the CL final 2 seasn ago, he was also good....not our best but one of the best 3 players. What about the season before that?

Do you know me? Have you ever read anything posted by me in any way stating that?

I rate what Trezeguet does very highly for your information. And to be honest, I came to realize how important his job is in this particular season more than ever, after seeing two similar players share our attacking positions, and no one in the penalty area to score. Yes Trezeguet is a 'poacher', but Del Piero isn't. The point I was making is that he shifted his role to replace Trezeguet mainly because Zlatan wouldn't, even if it would have been easier the other way around since Zlatan is much bigger and taller.

Please read other people's posts, think, and then reply next time.

Yes when Trezeguet scores these kind of goals we say that this is the only thing he's good at, and thats the truth. He's only good at scoring goals and isnt found anywhere in the teams build up. BUT it doesnt matter as long as he score goals, and finish every chance he gets, he's one of the finest finishers in the world.

I don't think you blame Trezeguet for not being one of our best players this season, mainly because he was injured.

That same logic should apply to Del Piero of last season, when he was injured not once, not twice, but three times!

And in 2001-2, he was also one of the best players.

1. No it is, I didn't mean to make it sound like it wasn't. I'd mentioned earlier that Bayern's games were of the big games this season. Check back if u want.

2. True, that's what happened. The defenders were Gattusso and Nesta, but I don't see the point?

And why does everyone all of the sudden care so much about Juve's finances, as if DP's wage would get the club bankrupt or something. To be honest he earned it with all the things he done for the club, and the things he still does.

I also believe that DP will get a paycut in the near future, the same way he did a year or two before.

I don't understand the reason behind your patronizing attitude, I thought this was a 'discussion room' and we were having a free discussion?

I know what you were talking about. I don't see how what I said was irrelevant.

Find one thing about wages in the paragraph I quoted in that post.

Del Piero makes more than anyone else on the team, and he deserves every bit of that. Why? Because he sells shirts, he has the biggest fan base, and he's still a very important player at the club. People like you would say how a lot of people supporting Juventus would actually leave if Del Piero leaves, so you know how important he is for attracting fans. That's what Juve wants afterall, more fans= more marketing=more money.
