I will never tell you that. But it seems that there is someone who can said it to you....

Juventus, Giraudo: 'Del Piero Sempre In Bianconero'
Mer 09 Feb, 2:17 PM

(AGI) - Torino, 9 feb.

Sorry Donny. That man seems more informed than us....

i ll get over it. seeing dp retire here does offer some benefits to club.

may i remind you though that dp did substitute a legend and once we get another legend in the making i wont be surprised to see dp out

but the old legend had a problem with juve s owners,
the current legend is a cool calm guy
and the future legend has a problematic caracter and needs guidence.
i believe they can coexist:confused:

And may I remind you the R. baggio and Del Piero are different interms of what they gave Juventus. I am a HUGE R. Baggio fan and I was really sad to see him departure Juve, BUT its a fact that what Del piero gave Juventus is more than what Baggio did. Del Piero came when he was ~18 years old where baggio came when he was older. No-one knew Del Piero before he came to Juventus where R. Baggio was known but did get his fame at Juve. What R. Baggio gave Juventus is similar to what Zidane gave Juventus (another player whom I am a big fan of and was sad to see him leave).. Not that they didn't give anything, not at all.. They gave ALOT. But Del Piero gave more, Del Piero stayed longer. From youth till 30+ .Thats the difference between Del Piero and R. Baggio.

In few years Del Piero will retire, he will mostly take a position at Juventus management since this is what Giovanni Angelli asked juventus to do before he die.
Till that day, I am sure that Del Piero will continue to impress. He will continue to lead.. And I will deffinately continue to cheer and support.

Actually, this thread is as much here to praise him as criticise. Your type of post is most welcome too. I'd better warn you though, you'll grow prematurely bitter and grey trying to defend Del Piero from every troll here.
Don't you think its worth it :) :)

**** off Donny, because as a matter of fact, Del Piero DOES deserve to be our most paid player. He makes people want to watch Juventus and he's famous, which makes Juventus famous. Del Piero is great for Juve's market potentials, so economically seen Del Piero DESERVES to be our most paid player.
well said Seven.

I really sheer your opinion.
As much as i love il codino, his role in Juventus hasnt been the same role that Alex has. He is the flag player of our team, as Paolo Maldini is for Milan, or Totti for Roma ( althrough this last case probably wont be for long) Raul for Madrid, etc.

But also, DP was deeply admired and personally appreciated by Advocato Agnelli. He selected DP, as he selected Bettega many years ago, to become a sports director of the team, a long stand reference point in the Juve society. And that will of Agnelli is well known by Moggi and Giraudo. Thats the reason why Giraudo says that " Del Piero is the future for juve".....

Don't get me wrong, I am not a DP basher - but I don't think you can consider DP a football God.

I think to be a football God, you have to be consistantly brilliant, perform on the big occasions (9 times out of 10) and prove yourself at an international level and an international tournament.

Unfortunately, I don't think DP has done any of those.

He shows only flashes of brilliance, in the big occasions against Inter, Milan etc he quite often 'goes missing' - and we all know he hasn't performed as well as he is capable of in international tournaments.

I am not out to bash DP, I want him to continue his current form and to lead Juve to the title, nothing would please me more. But I have been disappointed with him so many times in the past.

I would trade all of his goals against Siena - and the other lowly teams, for a sparkling performance in the Milan game and a goal to round off a Juve victory. I want DP to torment the Milan defence as he did on Sunday...but I'm not going to bet on it happening.

My opinion, no bashing in sight.

In reference to your signature legend, I must say that posters such as myself and Monkfish do not "bash Del Piero," rather, when he was off form we gave him criticism. There is a difference between the two. Constructive criticism is purely telling how the situation is at the moment, in my opinion, however bashing takes it to a further extent, basically insulting. I can say for myself that I have never insulted Del Piero because that in my eyes is wrong. I know a lot of you have this opinion that I hate Del Piero because of the criticism I gave him, however that is completely not the case and totally untrue. Del Piero is one of my favorite players in footballing history and I will continue to support him, wherever he might be. However, in my eyes, the club Juventus comes first, while players at their own respective prominence come second. That does not mean you cannot pick and choose your favorite players and have a say on their status at the club.
