When I said this months ago some were laughing at me.
I still insist it's a power games indeed and he wants to remove him because of his reputation.
When Agnelli took over last year, the first thing he did was complicate Del Piero's contract, it's when he got owned by Ale when he said "I'd even sign on a blank sheet and money isn't everything" referring that he could have moved somewhere with much more income into his pocket.
In Agnelli's 2nd year, the season has barely kicked-off and he made an announcement that this is Del Piero's last year.
That's 2years of Agnelli the jerk, my friends.

It's always been the only reason Rabbijaan. Think about it, the guy is bigger in the dressing room than Conte, he's bigger in the fan's hearts and he's got all the qualities to be a very imposing shadow once he takes over as director. Agnelli is aware of all this, and more than cutting short his career at the club as a player, what he really wants to do through this treatment is give him a hint that he's not overly welcome to the club as a director.
Anybody who thinks Agnelli is doing this because it's going to help the team is sorely mistaken. Agnelli is doing this because he wants to be the last word at Juventus, and for that he needs cockeyed puppets who will do as he says. Unfortunately, Alex, by his persona and charisma will always hold sway over the fans and directors at the club, and Andrea cannot let this happen. I'm sorry to break it to people but if we don't renew Alex's contract this season, it's the first step to not offering him a contract on the board. He will not be back at the club in any capacity.

Definitely. If anything, it would be a class gesture by our board to offer Alex a contract to stay as long as he wants. It would be then up to Del Piero. If he doesn't want to accept a sub role, he can leave on his own terms and there's nothing Juve can do about that. But if he's willing to play (a late) sub role at the team, considering his low wages, his talent which can occasionally help the team, him selling shirts and being fans' favorite, why should our board be against it? I can't seem to understand it.

We are in April, official offers from clubs should be knocking on his door but he hasn't made any announcement yet because he's not certain he wants to leave. (Even though he's officially being pushed away)

That's the sad part. The person who can put the speculation to rest has his man Friday come out and make provocative statements. Every clarification on the issue starting from the board meeting to now has never been prioritised. It's dragged on, and the club has not moved to squash the issue, which should've never been made this big in the first place. So while you're absolutely right that we don't know the truth, it's the club's responsibility to respect their legend and fans with with Agnelli and Del Piero addressing this issue at the end of the season, instead of constantly creating a furore at important points in the season.
Of course they (I should say we) don't have a clue what's going on. Yet I see countless posts claiming all sorts of stuff, ranging from possible to batshit crazy.

If Alex comes out and speaks and everything is the way it seems, he knows he can turn the fans agains the club. He won't speak because he's got way too much class. Which is why its the club's prerogative to clear the air. But to me, its like they are going out of their way to make Alex feel unwanted. First, the odd timing of the announcement 2 months into the season. Now, Marrotta saying not only that the renewal is as decided by the president, but by clarifying Gigi can easily have one for life. these are very strong messages IMO. I'd love it if Agnelli could just come out and say it like it is. No chinese whispers. No good cop, bad cop. No Marrotta.
