According to Tuttosport, he recieved the Gazzetta award in Vinovo today, cause he didn't want to travel to Milano (to avoid physical risks). And he probably won't start vs. Milan (again, according to Tuttosport).

:sergio:
...but he is travelling to Milano anyway. What's the point? Avoid what?

and if he doesn't start, who will? Both Iaquinta and Amauri are injured, will Martinez play as a SS with Quag??

Alessandro Del Piero has told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he’ll either play for Juventus next season or move abroad.

The club legend has less than a year left on his current contract and, although almost 36, he isn’t ready to retire just yet.

“Of course I dream about scoring in the new Juventus stadium [which will be ready for next season],” he said in an exclusive interview.

“The decision on my contract renewal will be a natural one, made between myself and the club.

“There is one certainty though and that is that I want to carry on playing – with Juventus or abroad as I couldn’t wear another shirt in Italy.

“I have experienced some difficult times here, but I have always been happy and I am proud of the path I have taken.”

Del Piero has been in Turin since 1993 and has won almost everything on offer with club and country.

“I’d love to play the Intercontinental Cup match against River Plate again, that we won with my goal, as well as the semi-final and Final of the World Cup.

“I’m privileged. It was incredible to win the World Cup and it allowed me to forget about the Euro 2000 Final that we lost.”

The former Padova youngster has come up against some tough opponents down the years, but he misses one in particular.

“Paolo Maldini, an exemplary captain and a point of reference for everybody,” he noted.

Turning to the Calciopoli chapter, Alex said: “Yes, I was angry when it all exploded – for the whole situation and for that which they took away from us.

“But we have transformed that anger into a stimulus for the future.”

And after admitting that he has a desire to play on, Del Piero also noted that he would be ready to add to his 91 international caps if needed.

“If Cesare Prandelli calls me then I am ready to play,” he added.

Yesterday, I watched a full program about Alex on Aljazeera. It was for one hour full of his goals and interview with him and interviewing his friends.

It was nice.
