On the day of his 50th birthday I would like to join those who sent him thousands of good wishes on this "Maradona Day". I still remember the wonderful words he dedicated to me on that great night at Bernabeu, when I scored two goals against Real Madrid right in front
of his eyes and some other occasions during this summer when he mentioned my name in some of his statements. This is a perfect occasion to thank him not only for compliments but above all for the unforgettable moments he has given to all who love this sport.

And surely, once again, Happy Birthday!

LOL, he's praising himself while praising Maradona. A bit full of himself, isn't it??

30.10.2010 DIEGO 50 !

For those of my generation and may be not only for us, Diego Armando Maradona has always been a role model in the football world: fantasy, quality, corectness... When he started playing in Naples, I was ten and even if my football faith, as you might know, lay on the other side, like all the other supporters I was captured by this wonder whoperformed incredible things with his ball.

I think that one of the greatest privileges of us, football players, is to make people happy and he definitely represents this concept better than any other player.

Not really. He scored two goals in the Bernabeu and Maradona was there. Maradona also praised him. Del Piero's merely stating facts. You however are an asshole filled with nothing but hate, because you are so bad at anything you do that you cannot allow others to have succes and be happy.

What a hopeless pretext to try and bash DP on. VicCB, you really need to aim higher. Not that anyone will take you seriously (I imagine), but at least it will give you some personal satisfaction.

I just think it's funny how he dedicates the biggest paragraph in his note to praise himself in Maradona's birthday celebration. Nevermind, the thought just crossed my head when reading the news bit, carry on with the next set of speedo pics. :p

still though, Alex is probably one of our top 5 players in the team at 36 years old, which says alot of how good he is. He is a legend of Juve and the game. He did alot to the team, and stayed with us in Serie B, but now you are showing too much hate since he is not putting as good performances as in the past due to age which is completely wrong. You can critcize as much as you want, but you go far away and insult him sometimes. He is not just a football player to many of us, he is an idol and a guy we looked up to for years. So when you insult him many of us take it personally.

Man, I know that and understand how important he has been for us. I'm just not as attached to him since I don't have any idols (we are all human beings, we are all assholes by nature :) ).

Maybe I'm harsh but it's true, him renewing would be a mistake unless he takes an enormous pay cut (less than a million a year) and accepts a bench role.

And I don't hate the man, it's not like he's plotting the death of thousands in a cave somewhere and/or touching kids at night. He's just a soccer player. :)

That's one way of looking at it. It doesn't lead to anything good, though.
Oh, I meant it a bit as a joke, but it's in the sense that everybody has flaws, everybody has dark moments. I can admire, but I can't idolize anyone, since in a way it's forgetting his/her human elements and that's unfair to everyone.

I think I will arrive to a certain point, where I'll have to pick between myself or the dumbest member of 2010, VicCB. I think I like myself therefore I'm most likely to vote for myself.

Like VicCB would say, "Ohhh, so this is how you abuse your Mod powers? "

and my answer would be, "Ohhh, yes"

Oh well I have idols just like many. My parents and Del piero since 1994 when I started watching him as an 11 years old kid. The way he handles him self on and off the pitch is something I respect and look up to, I try to imitate him by working hard and study to achieve something in my life. The dedication he shows is something to learn from. It's normal to look up to successful and great people that dedicated all their life to be perfect in what they do

Next year Alex for sure isn't going to be a starter, and he would come off the bench, but you can't blame him if he is chosen as a starter by the coach, it's not his problem to worry about, and can't tell DN no I am old, I don't want to start. He is a prefessional and has to do what he is asked to. Also amauri and Iaquinta being injured and off form for long period of time hasn't helped either, so he had to start. Also when Alex start or play he isn't the problem, we have no problem scring usually, it is the defence that let us down mainly this year. So I wouldn't blame Del piero for the incompetent of our backs and lack of understanding among the d line

Is that how you deal with issues in real life?

Yes. I abuse my powers in real life too. They call me the abusive creamy boy.

You even criticized Del Piero for praising Maradona:lol:
No no, I meant the whole cover your ears and go "la la la this isn't happening". Anyway, if you read what I actually wrote, I thought it was amusing the most he wrote about was about praising himself instead of talking about, you know, this guy:

I mean what a fucked up person are you? What are you looking for in this thread exactly?
To put my thoughts in writing?? Oh wait, no, I'm an evil super villain that wants you and every DP supporter to suffahh!!!!
