Lets say there's a footballer. He has amazing skills from scoring abilities, vision, passing, tackling, highly developed attacking & defensive attributes. He plays for his local team, a mid table team, he wont leave the team because of family reasons & pledges his allegiance to his local team but his team never ever wins anything.

According to you he can't be a legend because he isn't with a top team that wins tournaments time after time, despite being one of the best players ever.Seems rather flawed to me.
Inzaghi is the best player ever that doesn't know how to play football. :p

Anyway, yeah, a player that never proved himself in a big team and never won trophies can't really be a true legend IMO. Maybe they can be one locally, like Di Natale, but there's countless of players out there who were supposed to be the next Maradonna, Baggio or Pele and never made it outside their little teams.

I think it's about translating potential into reality and a way of seeing that happen is by winning trophies and being instrumental in their team's sucess.
