I'm not judging by that theory alone. Ciro even thought of benching him while Del Piero didn't allow that. He was placing an extra pressure on him to play him and hey, benching Alex isn't easy

Under Ranieri he did good but nobody was mentioning what happened two years ago, but now. I'm not underrating anything, he saved our team many times and he will still save this season, but that doesn't have to anything with my point again. It's obvious he's getting weaker every season and there's simply no 36yo striker that can play for 70' and where team benefits from that. You will probably defend him even when he's 40 though. There's nothing wrong in it but let's face it, he's fading man. If we had Mourinho he wouldn't get to play much at all and there's a reason.
If Mou were here DP would be in Shalke :snoop:

When people realize he shouldn't play a whole match and that he's doing us harm as well.
But he ISN'T playing entire games. You already have what you want. So why bitch? Simply to degrade the biggest monument this club has ever had?

Congratulations, Dusan. I know this isn't what you're trying to achieve, but it is what it looks like.

I have what I want? No I don't have what I want.

I do it because I find it very irritating how some defend him. And hey, he isn't playing but people want him to play. It's not like it's any different. He got more praises than Amauri for that corner. I wouldn't moan if he starts and I expect some people to laugh at me when he scores but I'll not care. Why, because I know he'll score and I was never issuing that. Some are just not accepting everything, only half of what is shown.

But I'll stop it now, don't worry.

Forza Del Piero

This thread will be a pain in the ass all season long, whenever Diego will play a great match or Ale will decide a match. Or whenever one of them plays awful.

It's just the way we operate here in Juventuz.

I understand what you mean and yes, it can be annoying. But there are others who are just as bad. Say what you want, but Del Piero did score more than anyone else last season and not so long ago he was Serie A's top scorer. Add to that the fact that he has put in some reasonable performances in preseason as well and I'm very surprised why some insist on tarnishing the image of the biggest legend this club has ever seen.

It's annoying. Just like it's annoying how some of us don't even respect our own players. The only player one shouldn't respect is Suicide Melee because the guy clearly's all wrong in his head.

I don't particularly care about who plays as long as we play well.

I don't see the point of this argument, really. Diego offers something, Del Piero offers something else, as long as whoever is on form or fits better into our gameplan will play, I see no problem.

Even if you do it's not a problem. Sure, some assholes like myself will attack you when angry and call you a fake fan :)D) but wanting your favorite player to play and to watch him every week is too much of a natural reaction to be criticized.

When Del Piero is your favorite player of course that you'd like him to play better than Diego and bench him. Just like if Diego is your favorite player you'd like him to play better than DP and start every match.

Sure you can expect the "But the better player should always play" cliche from those who don't idolize DP or Diego and for whom neither of DP/Diego is a reason for becoming a Juve fan and loving football (Like myself :D), but as much some of us want to take the higher ground here, just think of it this way:
- Your brother signs for Juve and plays the same position as Diego. You are a Juve fan. You'd like the best for Juve and Juve to win, but will you prefer Diego over someone you love?-

Agreed. Of course I would prefer it if Del Piero scored 30 goals and made us champions. And yes, I would like that more than I would like Diego to do the same. But if Diego can provide and Del Piero can't, I have absolutely no problem with Diego playing.

Fact remains that it's a delicate situation and I think most of us have had enough of this entire discussion.

It's the first time we've decided to play 4-4-2 and not both will be allowed to play apparently. Last season it seemed easier with 4-3-1-2 because both could fit in.

But yeah, I do hate this discussion.
