I was thinking about the same incident :lol2:

If a great captain is one who admits that he wanted to injure players on the field, then I'm sorry Del Piero is not a great captain. If a great captain is one who lets his team mates run around and intimidate the ref and mock him on the field, then I'm sorry Del Piero isn't one.

But if a great captain is one who commands respect without having to utter a word, bring fear to the opponents hearts without showing a sign of anger on his face, if a great captain is one whom even the opponents fans respect, then Del Piero definitely is one. I don't know if he's the best captain in the world, because its not quantifiable. But he's definitely one of the best. To put the likes of Terry, Ballack, Roy Keane over him is ignorant and stupid.
I loved how he just walked straight into him:D

And I agree on every word you said:)

If all the juve coaches think del piero should be our captain, if the team thinks he should be captain and think he is a great captain. Who are we to even doubt that?
IMO Alex is one of the few captains who shows all his emotions on the field while he is coaching the team, sign of a true leader and captain!

Honestly, this is just a forum. Don't take what I write personal, cause its not.

Look, you can think that I hate Del Piero as much as you want. Its not like I have to answer you and you're not the judge of who loves and hates Del Piero. Believe it or not, I did grow up with Del Piero as my favourite player. The people that know me know that I like him, they know how many Del Piero shirts I have but they also know that I think he shouldn't be a starter anymore.

Am I disregarding Del Piero as a captain in general? No, thats crazy. But this season, when the team has been shit, I haven't seen him step up. All I see is how many goals he's scored.

You can like or dislike Javier Zanetti, but the way he lead the team yesterday and how he acted out there, I haven't seen Del Piero be close to that in a while.

And notice that I haven't said anything personally insulting about you. If you want keep having this discussion I would appreciate if you did the same.

Suns please tell me how Zanetti was an exemplary captain last night. He didn't have a better performance than friggin Lucio or Eto'o or Sneijder. He was exactly setting the team on fire or giving them encouragement or inspiration.

Suns, seriously. He was injured, he wasn't part of the squad a long time so how can he step up for something he has nothing to do with. What do you mean with stepping up? Telling the press that Ciro is a prick? I don't know what you mean, please explain it.

I don't care if SUNS says anything about DP as a player, a forward, a fk taker or i don't know what...but to criticise him like that as a captain, saying that 'this captain only cares about his goals' (and compare him to fucking interista) it's really disgraceful. stupid comment
What has that got to do with anything? Zanetti is a really classy guy, no matter what club he plays for.

So if someone has a different concept than you of what a captain should be like, that means he's ignorant and stupid?

It doesn't matter if he's classy, i got nothing against Zanetti. but saying that you prefer the captain of our biggest rivals, those LADRI, more than our captain- and not just captain, fucking Alessandro Del Piero, maybe the biggest symbol in the history of Juve- it's disgraceful.

zanetti? without a doubt one of the best inter player I´ve ever seen. consistent, technically gifted, tactically sound, agressive. Hats off to him, even if he is interista. Overrated? gimme a break...
