"Raúl and fellow long-serving teammate Iker Casillas were both awarded a 'contract for life' in 2008 - the terms of which stipulate that it will be renewed annually for as long as they play 30 games per season"

We should do the same for Del Piero and Buffon.

15.02.2010 DOPO JUVE-GENOA

No, nessuna furbata. Fallo avvenuto fuori area?

JUVE-GENOA, AFTER THE MATCH

Juventus-Genoa 3-2, after match statements:

Regarding the participations record.
“These targets are important, even if I have already have an opportunity to celebrate numerous records it still touches me because this society and these colors have become part of me, my whole life, apart from the beginning in Padova. Numbers like this one, 445 participations in Championship being part of Juventus make me feel even closer to famous colors, and give me a good reason for being proud”.

Regarding match.
“To come back to win after more than a month and pass to recovery, is a very important sign. We can’t talk yet about this match being a turning point, because from now onwards each game for us will have this value. But it is necessary to stress out the fighting spirit that helped us to earn these three points, incredibly important for us in this period. As for me I’m satisfied with my perfomance, probably the best in this season. And now, let’s concentrate on the next game".

Regarding the penalty,
“Gasperini said that I tried to outsmart everyone in case of penalty? No, no tricks. That’s a pity that he has to foul up the match talking like that, especially the match against Genoa that was an excellent one. It’s a shame to belittle a nice match like that. There was a clear foul. Nobody protested on the pitch. In slow motion you can talk about everything. Foul committed out of penalty area? Yes, but nobody has noticed it on the pitch, me included. Honestly, I was watching only the ball and I was busy to get it towards the centre, because I was too far on the side, and then I wanted to try to kick with my right foot. When the referee whistled the general atmosphere on the pitch was serene and there weren’t any particular complaints, that proves that without slow motion it was too difficult to see what the images showed after".

15.02.2010 445 PRESENZE

445 PARTICIPATIONS

Another record, but I still can’t get used to it. And I don’t believe that one day it will become just a habit to reach the targets like these, because for me it’s not just a celebration of what I have achieved, but also an encouragement to make everything even better.

Counting in the match against Genoa my participations came up to 445 times that I was wearing Juve shirt in Championship. I won’t forget this day, it started with the ovation that my fans and not only them dedicated to me at Olympic stadium, when Vice President Roberto Bettega awarded me with the shirt that had number 445 on it and the celebration memory plate. I was really pleased to receive the applauses before the beginning of the game, especially at the moment when our fans didn’t have a lot to celebrate considering the difficult period, without win since the 6th of January. But they overcame the disappointment. I was really happy to pay them back with my goals at the end of the match.

With this match I got the better of Gianni Boniperti on the tables of the participations in Championship, and also for this reason it is a very important target. Once again my career intertwined with President who introduced me to Juventus, a man who built up the history of this club on the pitch and then, in the society. I talked to him some time ago, we laughed about matches : he played his 444 in Serie A, instead, among my 445 I have 32 in SerieB… But apart from jokes, for my career and for Juve these B matches mean a lot.

I’m very glad to have celebrated an occasion like this with a victory that we chased up to the last moment, the will to win was enormous, and we earned it with great determination and pride, we suffered and recovered as we’ve never done in this season yet. It was absolutely necessary. It was fantastic to score twice in front of my family, that was happy for me at the stadium section. What a day!

Ps. I remember that when I first put on Juventus shirt in the 1993/94 season, I played in Primavera and that year we won Viareggio competition with my team mates. It was nice to see that years later Juventus keeps on winning: Primavera of mister Bruni won the Viareggio competition, and it is the second victory in a row for Juventus. I know well those guys, because very often they train with us at Vinovo. I’m really happy for their success and I want to say “Well done!” to them and to all the staff.

The Gazzetta: Ale wants to get 300 goals vs. Ajax, now he has 298 (without the u-21).

Tuttosport: Ale has 299 including the three goals with the u-21.

My sig says 296 (without the one with Padova and the three with the u-21).

Who's right?

SABSAB, that he doen't behave as a leader.
It's not normal when Melo are speaking to press about our desire to change things, prove that we are good for CL etc etc, and Captain are keeping silence.
I felt like he just withdrew himself from this situation and just think about new records.

First he was off pretty much 80 % of the Ciro time. And then what should he say?
Should he go to press and say Ciro sucks, sack him? To what should that lead?
Or should he do a Diego or Melo and say hey we are still in the Race, no problem?
Would that be better? Would that change anything?
In these times you better work than talk. And that's what he said. Stop talking take action, it's not only Ciros fault but also the players and the whole board. Everyone should pick his own nose before he goes and talks to press. And at that time Ale was not in a position were could go to the press and say I give my best but the rest sucks, change!
I bet there was talk, it has not always to be in the media. The captain has to talk to his team. And I'm sure he did.
There is a reason why he's the captain of this team for such a long time.

It's thing that defines leader. Leader always know what to say.
If he is Captain - he always is is position to talk.
Yes' you can hope that he said something to the team, but it's only a hope.
