I have already written some post about it somewhere. That Alex not performing to his standarts in Azzurri is because of his different role there then in Juve.

If they would try to give him more freedom and more responsabilities in the team i think he would shine there too. Although I don't think they should give it to him now, and that is because of his age, they should try to look for other alterantives.

I agree that not selecting him in this cup is a good thing, it will prolong his career. The rest he will get this summer will do him good. But not to select him and Cassano to WC would be a crime. Those are the players that even in a bad day can change the game in few seconds.

Donadoni left him on the bench, and when fielded he played him as LM not even a left wing. Its like asking Kaka to play as a defender then blaming him for playing so bad.
The last gmaes Del Piero played on his position was in WC06 and he was brilliant.
