Actually I would prefer Del Piero playing just for Juventus and leaving national team aside. There are new kids out there and desperate to play for the Azzurri. Alex doesn´t have the legs anymore for both Italy and Juventus. He should concentrate just on Juventus, like Nedved did.

Del Piero is not that important for national team anymore.

I agree, but then again Alex said he would always be there should the Azzurri need him - which is why I think this is all media BS, I bet alex doesnt even mind being on the bench for the azzurri, hes not stupid. He'll just be there in case he's needed, and Im pretty sure he understands that. some of you must be blind and get a bit carried away with this DP devotion; sure he is a great player but to retire a number because of him is just stupid. First of all we will have great number 10's in the future, Platini was the best playmaker we have ever had. DP never was best player in Europe and I doubt he will be now.
