Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero is delighted after the 4-0 win over Piacenza, but warned his teammates against complacency.
The Bianconeri regained top spot in Serie B following the victory at the Stadio Olimpico, with Del Piero netting his second hat-trick in two weeks.
“We played a good match against a strong team who created several problems for us in the first half,” the Juventino told Sky Italia.
“Winning against one of our direct competitors for promotion was very important. Now I hope we can increase our lead,” added the world champion.
“We must not give up or be distracted after managing to fill in the gap due to the point deduction.”
Pinturicchio was accused of suffering from nerves after the Week 25 match with Modena, when his violent tackle forced Nicola Campedelli to leave the pitch with an injured ankle.
“I am very sorry for what happened last week, but I am glad that today we were able to play more football,” explained Del Piero.
“Piacenza are so high in the table because they only worry about playing,” concluded the Bianconero.
Juventus are currently two points ahead of second-placed Napoli and seven points above third-placed Genoa in the race for automatic promotion to Serie A.
