*shrug* People on bigsoccer are saying that Del Piero was slow, didn't do much for 60 minutes, etc. But I didn't watch the match, so I can't really comment. Rating is 5.5 I think.

Donadoni should be very greatful how the match turned out.
His subs were really out of place.
Subbing your most active forward was just stupid.
Man of the match without doubt was Buffon.

Italy NT played poor as usual under Donadoni. Ukraine wasn't very good either though, so in the end when you have Toni you would score. Del Piero was one of the better players in the first half with some nice moves, especially a beautiful play with Pirlo which didn't end with a goal unfortunately. He looked creative as usual when he received the ball, but it didn't happen very much in the usual grey game of the current NT. He also got fouled quite a bit. Most disappointing was that he didn't take even one freekick - all were left to Pirlo who wasted all of them, and that was a shame. No doubt though Del Piero and Toni's convoking to the NT was what pushed the team to its first victory in the campaign with glimpses of what used to be. Forza Ale. :pint:

did he do enough to impress Donadoni and start next match?
he seemed happy with him when he went out and clapped him on the back... I don't know as I think it depends also on situation with Gila, Cassano, Inzaghi... and Totti. I don't think Di Natale is a candidate to start before Alex. Though if he's subbed out early, I'd rather he'll be subbed in instead which will give him a better chance to score so it doesn't really matter I guess. He's still the best regardless .:D

By the way Di Natale set up the 2nd goal. So he was an effective sub for Alex. Although he looked lively, but mybe Donadoni would would opt for someone else.
