Noel Gallagher saw the Italy-Germany match in Dortmund with Ale's wife and friends. Before the match he was a bit upset to start from the bench, but told Noel (who had gone to visit him) that he would eneter and score. So, since this happened and Noel "brought luck", Ale told him to go to see the final dressed in the exact same way (and with this I mean shirt, socks, underwerars). :D

this game will tell me if del piero is capable enough to keep playing at a high level. He needs to prove something with this match, biggest game of his career. PERIOD. i hope he lives up to his name.

Sorry to come off so harsh, but Alex does not have anything to proove. People are always saying Alex has to proove himself in this or that match.. Well I say he has proved his worth when he was 19-20 years old and now he is a legend.
He is playing in the Serie A and led Juve to the scudetto this season and I do beleive if it wasn't for his injury (and capello not favouring Zlatan) we would've made it past Arsenal.

I know that you are an Ale fan and respect goes to you and all his fans.. It just I am sick of reading Alex has to prove himself posts..
I hope you don't take my post so offensively. Non were meant :)

he has proven that he is a great player no doubt......and that he is a juventus legend. there will probably never be another player like him playing for juve again. i didnt mean exactly what i said. i just meant that in his entire career he hasnt played the best football in the world cup. he has shown brilliance at time but other times he looks nervous. he has been good for italy but when the world cup comes along he doesnt play to what im used to seeing. i think this is the game where he can make a mark and set him in the history books...... i was a little harsh but in saying he needed to prove something but i no and he expects alot out of himself because he is an amazing football player.

There's a difference between the fact as we know it that he doesn't need to prove anything, and the image for some/many that he does. This is the proof Morra was talking about in essence, it's something he will be able to put behind him if Italy wins.

He is a champion.,,,sadly he fails when it counts in some big games.

This is the time for him!!

. Im not asking for a goal but some good passes and a solid performabce would do wonders for him!

this is his last chance in AZZURRI, wish alex best luck.
he's taken too much inside his heart, though he may rarely say it, but they are always there. perhaps after tonight, he can finally let it go...
anyway, all i want is Italy to be the world champion. these guys deserve it!

Please people, let's not start saying he chokes when it counts. Let's leave these things to others, cause we know that if we look back, everytime we won something, he has always been decisive.
From the time when as a primavera player he scored an hattrick against a big team in a moment of crisis of our team, till when he scored against Germany some days ago.

Of course you don't. At Juve he plays in his position, as a forward, while in the NT he's almost always a midfielder.
As for the WC, let's not forget that in 98 he was injuried (and shouldn't have been called), in 2002 he played little, but managed to score and till when he was on the pitch we were leading against Korea and what to say about 2006? It doesn't seem too bad to me.
The EC? Unfit in 96 (non that the team did much better than him), midfielder/LB in the final stages of the tournament (but let's remember that if it wasn't for the defence we would have won also without his goals), unfit (he shouldn't have been called after not having gotten his form back after the injury) as the rest of the team in 2004.
The truth is that in the last 10 years not many Italian players have had better tournaments than him and that's why things have gone not so good. :frown:

Uh, and I can't believe I forgot:
People that come at Juve at 18, steal the starting place from Golden Ball Roberto Baggio, suffer a aweful injury, are pointed at as drugged and gay (on newspapers and in the stadiums), suffer for their father and still don't complain about it and keep on working, that are the captain of their teams and sit on the bench, still being decisive when they enter, are not chokers: they are people with more balls than the awerage.
