wrong decision imo.id rather see totti playing in the whole behind del piero and toni.del piero isnt as creative as totti.
Del Piero in this formation is not playing as a playmaker but as a 3rd forward/winger on the left. This worked extremely way againt Holland, Germany....

I agree. But specially against Germany. You could see dp very comfortable and very usefull in that position. Its something like this:

------------------Buffon------------------

Zaccardo---Canna---Nesta---Zambro

---Cammo----Gatuso----De Rossi---

--------------------------Del Piero---
------------Gilardino---Toni---------------

I just place some players where ever. The point is that dp doesn't play as a playmaker when he plays behind gila and toni (When totti isn't abeilable). Dp plays as a 3rd forward (as mnementh said) just a little behind at the left wing...as he played in Germany.

That isn't an opinon that could be on DP's Official Thread?

I think Totti will be a starter.. Del Piero will be competing with Gilardino and Toni for the two strikers position.
Thats UNLESS the game requries (since Lippi can adapt to the game needs, unlike Capello who would play a flat 4-4-2 no matter what) Italy will play with 2 strikers + 1 wide striker were he will be playing instead of Totti with Gialrdino and Toni upfront.

i was talking about the number of games played by each member on the squad this season.totti has played the least because of the injury,so he is fresher than everyone else even though he might be lacking match practice.
Fair enough and good point.

Come and think about It, I don't think Totti's place is 100% in safe hands, after-all he's yet to be fit just like Marcello said and If he fail to performe against Swiss and Ukrain then I think the first Two games will See Alex Starting. That said, that, I do feel Lippi will probably start with Dp and Totti in the World Cup after these two friendly matches.

About Gila and Dp, there's no doubt Dp can provide and give much more than Gila, who wasn't that good in his first milan season not to forget that he failed to score his first goal in the champions league, unlike Del Piero, who didn't play that much but was our best player this season not to forget his goals ofcoarse.

I say Toni-Dp-Totti.

A little passage of a letter by Ale, that we'll find on June's Hurra' Juventus:

"... I'm proud to be Juventino, I'm proud to be a "bandiera", like you often call me, but the truth is that I'm a little piece of a big Juventus flag, a flag that grows with the years passing and, if each of you looks closely, he'll will find also his name on it..."
