Even if Walcott stays, it shouldn't influence Del Piero's decision. If Wenger wants Del Piero now it's because he's not convinced that the attackers he got at his disposal are good enough to win matches.
Well, that's what I think about. Gervinho, Giruod, Chamakh, Chamberlain, Podolski and a Korean guy. Ale is better than all of them, but I hope Wenger doesn't think of him as a sub for 10-15 minutes.

La Liga would have been a perfect option for Del Piero. At least in regards to him showing his quality.
In EPL he'll get much greater following and popularity at first, but eventually he might hurt his excellent reputation. Those guys only want running horses and Del Piero isn't one.

Arsenal would be great. He is still too good no to be playing top football. And at Arsenal who knows he might be a starter, there is not that much competition there.
It's still a top league in which Del Piero was gonna have so much fun and play much more than in EPL. Malaga or Valencia would have been top destinations for him, imo, and he was gonna accept offers if they came.
Both play in CL and in a big league where technique and talent are highly rated, appreciated and have advantage over non-stop running. For the later years of DP's career, La Liga would have been a nice place. I just don't see the EPL managers giving him enough playing time.
