How some of people here suggest that Real or Milan or any other top club treat their legends better and really do good with them... delusion, there is no other word. They are treaded equally there if not worse, there are so many examples of it...

And I don't think Alex is treated bad, sure he is not treated good, but I doubt his treatment could be called bad. And I my opinion 5 years later we will see him with us in some sort of management role if Alex decides to go this road and not just kick back and relax.

Prandelli open to Totti, Del Piero
By Football Italia staff

Cesare Prandelli has not closed the door to veterans for Euro 2012. “Francesco Totti and Alessandro Del Piero still have much to give.”

The Italy Coach is on a tour of all Serie A clubs and visited both the Lazio and Roma camps today.

He was asked about the possibility of calling Totti and Del Piero back for the tournament this summer, especially as injury and poor form has vastly reduced the forwards at his disposal.

“When it comes to dealing with Totti and Del Piero, it requires great respect,” replied Prandelli.

“Will they be called up for Euro 2012? It is best not to say things like that, but they have certainly given a great deal to Italian football and I am convinced they have much to give.

“The evaluations I will make when choosing a squad will not only be regarding their birth certificates.”

Every time I think about this I start feeling really sad. I don't understand. From an ability point of view there's no question - Alex has pulled this team through our toughest spell of fixtures in the year. He's acted like a true leader, and he has played such a huge part of us being top right now. From a club prestige/image point of view there's no question either - having Alex at Juventus is something to be extremely proud of, and it definitely adds to how people view us. From a financial point of view there's no doubt that the club makes more than Alex's wages every year in sales of Del Piero shirts. None of this makes sense to me at all

And as for the argument of other clubs treating their legends better, that doesn't come into it because Del Piero is THE legend. Am I just delusional in that or is it really the case? Del Piero is THE model professional footballer? He has everything - above all loyalty.

All these other teams saying that they'd welcome Del Piero - they aren't all trolling. PSG couldn't give less of a fuck if that throws us off our title race. Neither could MLS teams. And neither could Prandelli. They're all talking about how much they'd love Del Piero to play for them. Because he has so much to give. And we can get him for free this summer. But for whatever reason, we're not bothering. Once again, I dont understand. Sort it out, Agnelli

This Del Piero threatment will surely bite us on the ass someday. We might have gotten away with Pavel, Trezeguet, Camoranesi but the whole world is watching on this unjustice and just wondering what kind of idiots are running this club? It is worth mentioning that for everything the team and the coach had achieved this season, if it wasn't for the captain we wouldn't be fighting for trophies now.
Then there is the theme about the future. They are thinking about 'new champions' as the half-blind man put it, but when they meet a champion (like Aguero) they start singing the song of being a part of something, because they can't compete with the pretty straight offers from non-family clubs. I am now quite happy that Sergio did what at that time I considered somehow a morally flowed choice. I was so wrong. Since he can fully expect to be dumped the first moment the club feels like he is absolutely right to say to marotta - yeah, i like your project and all dickhead, BUT I am coming when the money are here!

Moggi: 'Del Piero exit a mistake'
By Football Italia staff

Luciano Moggi has warned Juventus “it would be a mistake” to let Alessandro Del Piero leave and the Scudetto is not won yet.

The captain’s contract expires at the end of the season and the club has so far resisted pressure to give him an extension.

“It’s true that Alex is not the player he once was, but he is always decisive, as he proved in recent games,” former Juve director general Moggi told RadioCalciomercato.

“The figures speak for themselves. I also know Alex as a person and can assure you we are talking about a great man. Del Piero would still be very useful for Juventus, even if used only occasionally. It would be a mistake to let him go.

“He can have a future as a director in Turin, but I want to point out he still has a few years left in his legs and could be like Jose Altafini, who was often decisive coming off the bench.

“The Juve directors have to understand if the player can still give his contribution to the Bianconeri cause.”

Juventus are top of the table with a one-point lead over Milan, but Moggi warns there are still quite a few potential slip-ups along the way.

“It’s not just Roma who are on their road to the Scudetto. Lecce, for example, play the best football in Italy right now and could really torture Antonio Conte’s side in a few weeks.

“They also need to watch out for Cesena’s new-found defensive solidity. In qualitative terms the Juve squad is not exceptional, but they are superb when it comes to determination and grit.”

well at least half the world is aware that letting DP go out from the backdoor is stupid.

If they do this, Marotta and Agnelli should get an award for being the most stubborn duo ever.

Just for the sake of not looking weak? FFS since that Agnelli speech months ago they look dumber every passing day.

It would really be a mistake to let him go this way

Vialli :shifty::

“It is legitimate for Juve to think of a future without Del Piero," the former Bianconeri striker argued on Sky Sport Italia.

"Maybe his presence scares the other strikers, as they do not feel relaxed and able to give their best.

"Perhaps having such an important man on the bench means they cannot take full responsibility.

“Besides, as far as Del Piero is concerned, it is better to have your departure regretted than have people put up with you.

"It’s best not to one day hear someone say: 'Oh, when are you going to retire?'"

Raul, Ronaldinho, Cantona, does Bayern have legends?, Maldini booed by the fans.

But by all means, go the fuck away to one of those clubs.
For every Cantona there is Giggs, Scholes and Neville. Do not tell me Manure treat their heroes like shit.

Ronaldinho just about spent 1/4th of the time at Barca than Alex did at Juve, so how that analogy applies to him doesn't even make sense.

Raul was dealt with very transparently. I dont know if you are aware of this but Raul and Iker had a lifetime contract with Madrid (the terms stipulating that it would be renewed every year as long as they played 30 games a season) I dont think you know that Raul left off his own accord even though Mourinho thought he'd make a good sub when Benzema arrived. The club didn't sneakily announce anything through the press or deal with things indirectly.

Bayern no legends? Dunno, how old you are, but Gerd Muller, Beckenbauer, Rummenigge, Matthaus, Kahn.

Also, while I'm giving you a history lesson, go check out the Juventus for life thread in the team discussion thread. Look who started it in the year we got relegated. So before handing out your unwarranted advice about who I need to support, shut the fuck up.

---------- Post added 19.04.2012 at 03:40 ----------

Nope, nope, nope, and after the 'they've won more trophies in Europe' comment I can't be arsed to read the rest. Sounds like another with confused loyalties.
Is it an insult to you that I acknowledge other clubs having won more than us in Europe? You sound like a fan in denial. It's a friggn fact that Juventus have won less, but that doesn't change my loyalty, love or support for my team. I don't understand. I can criticise Juventus for the way Alex is being treated but the minute this becomes contextual to the behaviour of other teams in Europe, I am not loyal anymore.

Juventuz is really the place to be.
