I don't know what is happening behind closed doors, I have no contacts in there. I think he would want to finish his career here, but as he said himself it's very hard for him to be in this situation where he doesn't get enough time, so maybe he really wants to move and play regulary in his last days?

If DP decided to retire now he would get the chance to do it in Juve, but he wants to play more, he probably wants to play 2-3 years if he avoids injuries, and that is not possible, so if not this season then next we would come to the same situation we are having now.

If he leaves it will surely be sad day, but a day after which I can see week in and week out regular highlights of his with plenty of goals and skill, because here, this would not be possible.
He said he'd fight to play more. It might be impossible for him to play more, and he can leave if this bothers him but why should it be impossible for him to "stay" more? Juve should let him stay as long as he wants because he is Del Piero. If he wants to get more playing time he can leave and that'd be truly on his own terms then.

I don't think Ale would go ANYWHERE in Europe for the reason that it's just too close to home and he wouldn't do anything to hurt this shirt, too much history. MLS makes more sense plus he's always been on about the states, must be a country he really likes.

Impossible since this more is a little too little for Alex, and I would understand that. Even the time he got in the last matches is too little for him in my opinion not to mention how much he got in the middle of the season.

The "I'm bigger fan" than you :touched:
Nope it's not that, it's just that some here are Ale fans and others are Juve fans. It all comes down to priorities.

Materazzi stands up for Del Piero
By Football Italia staff

Marco Materazzi says he isn’t shocked by the way Juventus and Alessandro Del Piero are parting ways.

The club captain has admitted that he wants to end his career in Turin, but the outfit noted last October that the player’s contract would not be renewed when it expires in June.

“It doesn’t surprise me,” the former Italy and Inter stopper told Sky Sport Italia. “Gratitude in football has been dead for years.

“Alex could spend 20 years with the same shirt, an historic achievement, but Juventus’ directors have been clear and Del Piero is not stupid.

“I’m still with Alex though.”

Del Piero joined the Bianconeri in the summer of 1993 from Padova and has gone on to win honours galore, as well as breaking club record after

"In addition, the set piece saw the 38-year-old draw level with Sinisa Mihajlovic on 27 career goals directly from free-kicks, an Italian football record."

Holy shit, how did we miss that, it's an amazing record to have :weee:
