No, he pretty much deflated all our opportunities. It was very frustrating. His set pieces were also not his best, but Ale always bounces back.
I don't agree with you Chris. Right, bad second half from him, but he was good in the 1st one. FK? it was hard to shot, but he did well i think. In the first half Bonucci missed the rebound, in the end Libertazzi missed too, it's not easy for him to create chances from FK in these conditions. I was the first one here to say that i'm worried about his FK, but this match is not included. it's not included in anything.

Take into consideration the circumstances that made him look bad...some guys here actually called him finished. Really? after this weird match? You know what, if we gonna play the rest of our games in -15 when there's snow storm out, so yeah, he can retire...

Otherwise- :sergio: :sergio: :sergio: :sergio: :sergio: for all the "He's finished" guys

All I cared about in this match was that no one will get injured.

I'm not saying he's finished or any of that bullcrap. I'm the last one to ever write him off so early because I know he delivers most of the time. But his corners are becoming very weak and he is holding the ball far too long during matches. Maybe a rest will help, maybe it won't. As it stands right now, he only seems to be getting worse and I really really hope he can find his form again.

But you're saying that based on this ridicuolous match. I don't think you said that after Fiorentina too, correct me if i'm wrong (and he played pretty well vs. the Viola). And I think that you can't rate a player, any player, based on this Holiday On Ice show. Put Messi in there and he won't do much better. It was just ridiculous.

The straw that broke the camel's back, I suppose.

I don't know why you feel this way, but I don't think he's doing so bad. He had a great start to the season, and right now he's not amazing but it's more his FK and corners that i'm worried about and not his overall performance.

That's what he did in the last 30 days:

Milan- Good match, scored.
Cesena- Fantastic match, MOM, scored
Brescia- Didn't look well, be he was tired, the fourth game in a row that he started.
Roma-Bad.
Genoa-Didn't play.
Fiorentina-Fine performance, Gigi took him off just as he was getting dangerous.

So, besides the Roma match, He did pretty well recently, and he can do better. When other players don't perform well, it looks much worse.

I want him as supersub vs. Catania, it's not gonna be easy to score against them, we gonna need him.

I agree he's had a good start, but exactly as you said, he seems tired and his set pieces are suffering. It was just very obvious in this match how tired he was.

to be honest, his corners and free kicks have been woeful of late (he did take one good fk against lech, i cant remember who missed)

truth be told he and iaq didn't contribute much today for whatever reason

Another shitty performance.

All hail Del Piero for what he´s done to the club, but let´s face it, he´s just not doing enough to justify a starting place in this team. Especialy when Quag i available.

And the talk of him extending his contract for another year is absolut ludacris. Unless he´s prepared to take a massive paycut, and being Cassano´s understudy for a year:snoop:

when will this club face that it needs to close the del piero chapter..we need livewires for strikers

his deficiency energywise against stronger defenders physically is too evident and makes him a liability especially when he doesnt have the ball

his set piece delivery has also gone to shit

please for the love of this game and club, let us move on

aguero, suarez, cassano, rossi, neymar, mata calibre like upgrade is needed if we wana challenge with the big boys like we used too

Del Piero: Worst conditions ever
Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero has complained about the conditions in which last night's Europa League clash with Lech Poznan were played.

A blizzard made visibility very poor even though a red ball was used and ice studs worn in the snowy conditions in Poland.

At one point the temperature even dropped to -11 degrees.

Juventus went behind early in the first half, but equalised with seven minutes remaining to earn a 1-1 draw.

The result means Juventus are out of the Europa League and their final group match against Manchester City is now nothing more than a friendly.

“They were the worst conditions in which I have ever played,” Del Piero said.

“It's a shame. We created a lot. But in the second half we couldn't see anything.”

Who's hating?

It's not like we don't appreciate what he's done for the club, and I for one still addore the guy.

But let's be frank here. It's not like he's contributing a hell of a lot to the team these days, now is it?

He used to be a specialist on set pieces. Now a days he's got trouble getting his cornerkicks past the first defender.

Del Piero could score an own goal in each match, and some Juventus fans would still say that he'd played a great match. For me though, the club comes before any player, even the great Del Piero.
