Odd how people that get so upset with Seven defend an obvious act of racism when it suites them.

If the context in which a chant is racist (the stadium) then even when removed that arena it still remains a racist chant.

Language is entirely dependent on contextural association.

Bang!

Folks that always play the race card are racists themselves, especially if that's all they do is label everyone else a racist.
Fucking save the fucking BS for once FFS. So calling asshats who in frigging mass chant "Negro di merda, a nigger cant be italian" are some kind of non existent racism thats just imagined by some subconcious bigotry of those pointing it out?

I REALLY hope you read the shit you say sometimes.

This is my last input on the matter.

The chants in the stadion are meant to be offensive to the black player, and at their root is racist intent. They really believe- for the most part- that a blackman can not be an Italian. It is not a matter of opinion, but just a plain sad fact.

If you rub shoulders with racist or fail to challenge them by citing that you are an individule and unaffected by them, then you are deluded. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

It seems to me that on this site there are quite a few who openly show their racism, but hide it behind the banner of supposed humour. The, "I have a friend who is black!" type.

It is shameful to Juventus in the stadiums of Europe, and shameful to Juventuz on these pages.

Basta.

People who look for racism in everything are just as bad as the racists. They keep bringing up racism and keep it alive when nobody's even thinking about it. Should Balotelli be free from insults from the fans because he's black?
We are talking him being being called negro di merda, and last night being addressed with "a nigger cant be italian". RACIST SCUM, é basta.

Wishing death on him or any player is stupid as shit crap that doesnt belong in footie either. Even more senseless that they are chanting about him when we arent facing him either, wtf is up with that.

I am 100 % sure, that Mourinho will field him as starter and will keep him for 90 min. against us! Also Balotelli will be "advised'' to try provoke the crowds as hard as he can. Mark my words!!!

Even if we disregard the whole racist or not talk, it is still downright idiotic to be singing that crap. Because in the end, it's always the club that has to pay (fines, stadium bans).

Now I read that Uefa are awaiting a report about our chants last night: just great!

Sing "chi non salta..." at every game for all I care, even if you're not facing Inter / Milan / Roma / ... I'll join in because it's fun & harmless.
Go ahead with "Che sera di questa Inter", it's also good fun.
...

But singing against Balotelli at games when he isn't there? Seriously, that's just making a fool of yourself.

Also, I don't recall our ultras singing Zlatan Zingaro when we weren't playing Inter (correct me if I'm wrong though).

What are you on about Osman?

The chant about "jump and Balotelli dies", is not racist. Whereas the one about "a black man can't be Italian" clearly is. Noone is saying otherwise.

They did sing it almost every game.

They did?

I can vividly recall the first time they sang it because I was there: first game against Inter after our return to Serie A.
I also know we received some fine and there was a lot of talk about it in the media.

I myself never heard it again, except for our direct confrontations with Inter. But I can't say I really paid a lot of attention to it, so I'll take your word for it.

My point still stands though: don't do shit that gets your team in trouble!

Yep, didnt hear it every game, but I heard it a VERY often.

And Esteban, was clearly differentiating betweent the two, even if they are obviously linked.

They sang that every single game. Home, away, coppa, serie A, CL.
All the time.

Ok, guess I'm frequently completely unaware of what's happening around the pitch or what is being sung.

Look, I never condoned calling him a "negro di merda". That is obviously wrong. But sorry, the original chant in which this thread was based on is not racist, especially when similar chants are said in other stadiums about a general base of supporters, especially Italian fans.

Refer back to swag's post regarding A Season with Verona to understand that much of this is just banter, and considering this chant doesn't call him a nigger, I don't have a problem with it.

If that makes me a racist, so be it. It's one thing to label someone a racist when they condone racist chants, but in this case, with bianconero labeling us all racists, he's going overboard. Accusers are sometimes as idiotic as the offenders.

so, Neapolitans can be slammed in Northern stadia, the same goes for Sicilians (anyone remember WC 1990, where a sign was posted in one of the Northern stadiums , referring to Scillaci "not too bad for a dirty Sicilian"), the Roma sign a few years ago slamming Lazio and Livorno (same first letter, same ovens), signs slamming the police (ACAB)....but if you pick on a black man in any way, its racist

this reminds me waaaay too much of America
