Discrimination is against the law. Speech, however, is not discrimination.

Discrimination refers to the treatment taken toward or against a person of a certain group that is taken in consideration based on class or category.
Sporting institutions have their own codes and regulations, their bussiness and association, and decide what they code they function under.

So then you guys are implying that a huge portion of our fans, and even myself, are racists? I really doubt that is the case, and considering that the chants for jumping for Balotelli were much, much louder than the nigger ones, would that not imply that some folks do not agree with such racist taunts?

You cannot prove that everyone who jumps for Balotelli is someone who believes he's not Italian, even though I know many think he's not.

What you folks are doing is the exact definition of going overboard.

But go ahead, try to ban fan chants. See what that does to the sport.

    Fuck Balotelli.

Answer me this, would you be this cavalier about this if the one getting the racist chants was the guy one your avatar, and from Inter fans?
If it was against Sissoko I would be pissed and I would curse Inter fans but I would want them to stop but I wouldn't want them punished for it. I think you misunderstand what I am saying, racist chants are bad and should not be in football but in general I am against any type of censorship. The problem is deeper rooted and not related to football, IMO we should be questioning why these fans think it is appropriate to mock a footballer or anybody because of his race.
What do you mean when saying punished exactly?

And answer the last part of my post if you will, if you arent to take the rest seriously (its fucking racist chants, RACIST, not some silly little pun said of a player) except ask a deflecting question.

And I'm I getting it right, but you dont see anything wrong with bigoted discrimination or what?
What is it with you? Simple talk is not discrimination. I'm not talking about forcing blacks to the back of the bus I'm talking about the right to say what you want. Don't try to make me look racist because I am not.
YES! IF THESE CHANTS WERE OF RACIST CONTENT
    I wasn't talking to you

    That's very debatable.
That's why things such as "hate crimes" are so controversial. Speech is one of those mediums where it's difficult to tell intent. Are Juve fans chanting at Ballotelli simply because he's black and they hate black people or do they simply not like the player and wish to get under his skin? The answer to that question is relative to each chanter.

You allways approach things black or white. Its about 300 idiots, chanting, 300 idiots, of how many Juve fans? It shouldnt be hard to get. Those condoning it, thats another thing, but its about their actions. Which we, if I should remind you, already got stadium ban for last season.

I don't mind what somebody says, speech is not discrimination.
You are aware that speech is the way humans communicate. The content of what we speak is an expression of our opinions which generate our attitudes which makes us take action. So speech motivates action. If my speech is constantly bashing black people then its very likely that my actions would not favor them either. My perception of them would be -ve.
Now imagine also the children watching the game in the stadium or on TV...
They'll see the 300 idiots (the "representatives" of the juve fans) bashing blacks which will affect their perception about blacks.

Take a look at the media... using "speech" marketers make you buy shit you don't want, vote for people you have no idea about, make you generate stereo types about Jews and Arabs....
As a marketer I can tell you for a fact that allowing racist speech (in and outside the stadiums) will equate to discrimination.

Not really. We're saying the chants are racist. That said, there are a lot of racist Juventus fans. We might not have the worst reputation, but a bad one nonetheless.

And jumping for Balotelli? I think you left out something. Jumping for him to die. But hey, a death wish is okay I guess.
You cannot prove that in every case it is based on racism. I hate Balotelli for the player he is, not because of the color of his skin. Some folks may love the chant because they don't think Balo is Italian, while others might just hate the way he acts and the color of his shirt. You can't possibly prove one or the other because we have no idea who started the chant.

Now, the folks yelling nigger, nigger are either truly racist, or just being assholes, both of which are unacceptable in this case.

And fuck Balotelli (oops, I'm racist).

Actually I think these racist chants make us as Juve fans look bad instead of blacks.

Sounded like much more than just 300.

And as I said, I know we have had a stadium ban for the use of racist chants. You know, REAL racist chants that are proven to be racist.

You cannot prove these chants are based on racism. You may suspect it, but you can't prove it is.

What pisses me off about this is these chants are not motivated by his race. There may have been racist phrases chanted during the Bordeaux game but these are clearly motivated by Balotelli's extremely poor sportsmanship and general attitude. You don't see the fans insulting Eto'o, or Muntari.

Newsflash, the bold part, they are the same frigging people.

Again, lastnight, the same folks against Udinese that chanted this chant and got us fined, chanted the same chant of wishing death on him, and IMEDIATELY afterwards chanted this nigger is not italian. And this same ultra group, I betcha are the same fucking morons who chanted Negro di merda in last season, and got us a stadium ban for it. In my 16 years as Juve fan, I cant recall us getting stadium ban for racism before, and we did just 7 months ago.
