Juve fans banned from Inter game Wednesday 20 January, 2010
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The repeated insults towards Mario Balotelli have barred Juventus fans from their Coppa Italia quarter-final with Inter.
The Bianconeri have been fined several times this season for insulting and sometimes racist chanting aimed at the Nerazzurri striker.
Now the authorities are taking even stricter action, as Juventus fans will be barred from attending the Coppa Italia trip to Inter on January 28.
This means that tickets will only be sold to people who live in the Milan area, although that doesn't necessarily mean there will be no Juve supporters.
The Turin giants have a large following in the city of Milan and so we could instead see Juve and Inter fans in mixed zones.
The decision was made in a meeting today and will be ratified tomorrow by the committee set up to deal with and help prevent football-related violence.
The upcoming clash with Lazio on January 31 in Turin is also considered to be 'at risk' and could have limitations on how tickets are sold.
Juventus have already been punished as a result of the Balotelli chants and use of fireworks, as this Saturday's big match with Roma will be played with an empty Curva Scirea.
This is the end where the hardline tifosi usually sit, but it will be locked down this weekend in addition to a total 165,000 Euros in fines paid by Juve this season.
There is also a ban on banners unless they are approved by the club.
