This is the problem right here. It's the typical bully situation. The best course of action is to ignore the chants of my signature, NOT label it racist, and just move on. But just like a typical bully, the Ultras will swarm on the whole situation with even greater abuse, because that is just what shit stirrers do.

The chant was not originally racist, but since folks immediately labeled it that, we have bigger problems on our hands.

This is my original point. Do not punish the fans for this jump chant because it sets a bad precedent in several ways.

Look, I hate it when we have people chanting a negro isn't Italian. That much is not cool -- and it doesn't justify those actions. But UEFA and the FIGC here have stepped way over the line. And while I don't defend what they did in Bordeaux, they are pointing out a bit of UEFA and FIGC hypocrisy over the subject.

You don't put a stop to racism by classifying any dislike or hatred for another human being as "racism" if they happen to be in a recognized class of races. That simply dilutes racism, because it becomes a catch-all crutch. That can be almost as dangerous as racism itself.

As I was saying here in America a week or so ago: a Muslim can't "go postal" anymore without being labeled a terrorist. Hard-wiring any bit of negativity to a person's race is a dehumanizing precedent, and it strips racism and religious persecution of its meaning. People are entitled to be assh*les, psychopaths, etc., regardless of race, religion, or creed. It's a joke -- and it dehumanizes people to become nothing beyond just their race or religion -- to essentially profess that they cannot be.

UEFA and the FIGC have been patronizing people of other races with some of these incidents, and they deserve to be called to the carpet for it. UEFA/FIGC are treating Balotelli like he is some defenseless, clueless house pet who needs them to step up and demonstrate how much they know what's best for him.
