did you just make Wales a county in england?

no, i think england and wales should be the united kingdom with no border and no seperate sovereignty, so by that logic england would be just as much a county of wales as wales would be of england, my reference to cornwall is because they still use a different dialect to english. I dont think scotland should be a member of the uk because a)they dont want to be part of the uk, the majority of the country elected the snp and b) they are a major economic drain on the rest of the uk and as the seperatists are so desperate to go it alone without the support of the rest of the uk im in full support of them and cutting them off from everything they gain from the union. (i dont think that can get me in trouble with the scots as im in full support of what the seperatists want IF they want it and those that dont want it then they are welcome to be in the union imo)

nothing would change, if the majority of scotland want to be in the united kingdom, they should stfu and get on and stop with the petty patriotism with and if the majority want to be independant they should be annexed from the union its fairly simple.

Whilst the majority want to be part of the UK they will remain a part of the UK lol. I dont see the real problem anymore there is no real border between the two the only reason that ROI have any interest in NI is for taxation.

I dont know why im getting flak for something that is nothing to do with me, i didnt invade these countries, but it happened and i just think the most logical thing to do is give scotland back and id feel the same about NI if it wernt still so dangerous, maybe in 50 years time it can be done.

When you go meddling in things you can't understand (history and resulting national feeling in Scotland/Ireland/Wales) you are inevitably going to be criticised.

What is an English accent? I assume you mean someone speaking the Queen's English rather than someone speaking with a Geordie or Scouse accent.

While I agree that the Welsh accent isn't that different to an English one, I don't think an Irish one is very similar (do you mean Northern or Southern Ireland?).

That'll happen. But I've heard pretty outlandish Scottish accents and I've never heard an Irish one that would be as distant.

I checked wikipedia and apparently there is such a thing as a Scottish language (I never knew that), but it's very rare, 50k speakers. Whereas Welsh and Irish are substantially more common.

I don't know why the Scottish Language is considered a language and not just a dialect. Maybe I should apply to have Doric (dialect of the North East of Scotland) to be considered a full blown language because it would have more than 50k folk that speak it.


The 'elegant Scottish' you speak of is probably most prevalent around Edinburgh and down towards the border with England.

Absolutely. It's not really about how many but how distant they are.

I think Norway is worse than England, having to do with a vast country and very little communication between regions historically.

But in Poland if you speak Polish you'll never encounter a freaky accent you don't understand, everyone speaks the same language. I think that's true of many if not most countries in Europe.
