This happens in Belgium too. It has even gotten to the point where the word "farmer" in Dutch is derogatory.

I find the situation with such groups a complicated one. On the one hand you want them at the stadium, because they can create quite the atmosphere, but on the other hand there's always the violence. Still, if I go to the stadium I want to see flags, banners and smoke and I want to hear some singing.

Yeah, it's almost like ex-Yugoslavia.
Well not that much, because in Yugoslavia 90% of the population was first of all Slovenian/Croat/Bosnian/ Serb/ Montenegrin/Albanian/Macedonian before being Yugoslav, and i don't think it's the case in Italy yet (except some provinces), but it's true that you can't really call the Italians nationalists.

I dont know if you are being sarcy, it always trips me up when im talking about stuff and it is stupid. (the uk should have a team and that should be it imo). England have a team, Wales do, Scotland do, NI do but there is no team that represents the union.

No -- just that England is not a national team. Or at least it hasn't been since 1707, or centuries before modern soccer was invented. But even to entertain England as a regional team (instead of national), you could argue that Barçelona serves the same role for Catalonia.

The point being that the lines between what constitutes a national team versus a regional team, whether club or not, aren't exactly a definitive black & white.
