Category: General

Juventus are facing the prospect of having to play the second leg of their Champions League tie with Werder Bremen without the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swedish star was injured during Sweden's 3-0 defeat by Ireland last night and his remains a doubt for Tuesday’s game.

“I hope it is nothing too serious,” he told reporters on Wednesday night. The full extent of the injury will only be established when he has been tested by the Medical staff in Turin, but there are fears that he won’t be fit to face the Germans.

Ibrahimovic will almost certainly not feature for the Serie A leaders in their trip to Sampdoria on Saturday night.

His absence will subsequently see Capello opt for an attacking duo of Alex Del Piero, fresh from his Azzurri heroics, and David Trezeguet.

There are also suggestions on Thursday that Capello will keep Robert Kovac in the side to allow Lilian Thuram a breather in defence.

Source: Channel4.com

but I think this is not so bad for us! Ale is in a good form these days and He played a long time very well with David!

Cap loves Ibra, but Ibra is injured so Ale will play from the beginning!! Thats good!

So what, its not like we lost Neddy in the CL final. Lately a dread everytime I see him start...some benches need to be warmed!

I'm sorry for his Injury, but Even If he was fit, I wouldn't play him.... (Del Piero-David)
If he was fit, Capello will play him. The only thing that will stop Capello from starting with Zlatan is injuries. I guess the pitch in Ireland did us all a favour last night.

Your right, Capello does play him wether he's fit or not.

No, Capello plays him wether he's on form or not. The only thing that stops Capello from playing him is if he's suspended or not fit.

Yeah.

Btw, I heard Adrian Mutu is also Injured, knowing that he didn't play with his NT....But media saying that he'll be fit for Tuesday clash.....and probably against Samp, not sure.

Mutu is fine, he has recovered from a minor ankle injury. He's ready for the samp match.

Nice. Zlatan is important, but our best-form forward option right now is DP-Trez anyway. Good to know that Mutu should be healthy too.

I don't think it's a serious injury on Zlatan. Anyway, good to see DP and Trezegol starting, I hope Trez will be back to his old form. :)

well, I am not sure if it really Trez who is not on form... He simply does not get many balls..
