It was natural favouring, just like the treatment that Iuliano got when he punched R9 down.

The Chinese did the same thing back here in Finland, he bought a club, filled it with Belgians and coincidentally they lost their first game 8-0 while the amounts of money involved in betting were way above the regular cash flows...

Altair answered for me. Besides, it's nothing that coincidental, I explained it before. The Danes just didn't care if Sweden scored the equalizer.
It wasn't natural favouring for crying out loud. Natural favouring gets you a penalty in a 50/50 situation not 3 goals disallowed and a penalty not given in your advantage.

About that game in Finland:

They didn't get away with it did they? I believed I heard they got punished and there was an investigation going on.

Nah, natural favouring does wonders, just watch the games of the hosts in pretty much every single major tournament, Euros and World cups. I believe that if the Koreans really fixed those games, they would have got the bronze at least.

I agree with Seven, the game between Sweden and Denmark was a joke. It felt like everything has been set up.
...What's fixing then? 2-2 were fine result for both, I don't think that they were aiming for that but when it came they just didn't mind.

e: Seven, investigation is still going on, but they haven't punished anyone yet.

You have to see the game to realize how pathetic it was; that probably was the worst moment in the history of the world cup ( excluding the world cup of Chile which is a totally different story)
What's the story of the WC of Chile?

I also agree with Seven that there was no money fixing, it was just what both teams WANTED to happen. Based on what? Just because and just because both nations fans wanted it to happen as well. It was some sort of a silent fix I guesss.

Now this is something I can agree with. The players nor the directors had any kind of contact with the opponents for fixing the game, it all happened quite naturally.

    Denmark - Sweden.
One of the most repulsive games ever IMO. Don't give me that "it was coincidence" shit. Everyone in the stadium was rooting for 2-2 and Sorensen just happened to make a crucial mistake in the final few minutes right?
no it wasnt a coincidence. it was too good to pass on. if you can prove that players met before the game and agreed on that then yeah you got something

Just because a 2-2 result WOULD eliminate Italy and people by some strange coincidence were clever enough to realize that beforehand, doesn't mean the game was fixed. When Romanisti say things like "I hope Cufre breaks Emerson's legs", that doesn't mean Cufre actually has done it or ever will. It's just wishful thinking.

Have to disagree to certain points here. There's 22 men on the pitch and some leftovers on the side. The Italian based danes (read Tomasson) ran the whole game and didn't look satisfied at all. After the game he made sure every one knew Sweden didn't earn the qualification. Yeah perhaps it was staged, perhaps it was real.

Did Sörensen do the danes a favour by 'giving away' that ball to Jonsson or didn't he just understand the consequences of it? He's been spit on and the danes got alot of crap from what happened. I think he would be a hell lot more satisfied if he'd just hold on to that ball and 'come home' as a winner.

After the goal both teams could live with the result and no team where willing to attack. But your don't base you arguments on those last 5 minutes right?

Seemingly, people don't realize that there is a certain prestige in Sweden-Denmark, it's a rivalry. And it always feels good to beat your rivals.

We like to beat Holland as well, but I'm sure we'd tie 2-2 if we were in the same position.

Very true. Unintentionally staged games are reality.

Meh games go on til one or in this case both teams are satisfied. The danes were satisfied at 1-0, sweden at 1-1, denmark at 2-1 and both at 2-2.
