where is Davids, Van der Vaart, Van der Meyde?

    Holland will win easily!
Davids is injured, Van der Vaart will probably start on the bench and Van der Meyde stayed at home because his girlfriend is expected to give birth to their child any day now.

    BELARUS 0-2 NETHERLANDS

A dreadful first half, with just a few chances for either side seemed to be the beginning of a dreadful match, but not really so when the second half kicked off.

Immediately, Holland pushed forward and their efforts were almost rewarded when a shot from Van Bronckhorst was nearly headed in on the rebound by Cocu, if not for the keeper's miraculous save.

Marc Overmars came on the pitch slightly later and just a few minutes after that, he scored Holland's first goal from a stunning run, passing three defenders.

Belarus seemed to collapse after that and Holland kept going forward. Patrick Kluivert scored a great second goal, soaked in brilliance and technique as only he can do after a great pass from Seedorf.

Overmars gave a superb high pass to Kluivert from the flanks later in the game but the Barcelona striker saw his header come off the crossbar.

All in all a good win and with Austria's shock loss to Moldova, Holland are now virtually certain of at least a second place in the group. The battle with the Czechs has begun.

Congrats on the win, Erik, and it seems that all of the people who want Kluivert to replace Trezeguet will have something to talk about following his goal tonight ;)

    ------------------Van der Sar----------------------
    --Reiziger------Stam-----De Boer--Van Bronckhorst--
    --Seedorf------Cocu---Van Bommel---Zenden-------
    ---------------Kluivert---Van Nistelrooy-------------

    45' Bosvelt for Reiziger
58' Overmars for Van Bronckhorst (Overmars to play in Zenden's position - Zenden to become left back)
75' Van der Vaart for Van Nistelrooy

Did you guys see Kluivert's goal yet? It's one of the best I've seen this season! WOW!

how can you even compare Kluivert's goal to Overmars' goal??!!
Kluivert's goal was nice, but was kinda easy! I can do it, you can do it, everyone can do it. Kluivert can do it too.

Rubbish! Only few players can score a goal from there and then with the outside of his 'lesser' foot! MAGNIFICENT!

    DERBY OF THE LOW-COUNTRIES
    IT'S BELGIUM-HOLLAND!

On Wednesday the 20th of August, the 123rd Derby of the Low Countries will kick off at 20.45 CET in the Koning Boudewijn Stadium in the Belgian capital Brussels

Throughout the years, this game has been one of the fiercest rivalries in the region, comparable to matches such as Ireland-England or Austria-Germany. Belgium was once part of The Netherlands and has only been independent for slightly over one century after a fierce battle for freedom which the Dutch lost.

Dutch feelings of superiority and Belgian desires of wanting to humiliate the former opressors make this a clash of culture, language and people.

But whatever the score, irony will be the winner as Belgian coach Aimé Antheunis has selected five players from the Dutch league, three even from the enemy capital Amsterdam.

    Here are the squad lists:

    Belgium
Keepers : De Vlieger (Willem II), Herpoel (AA Gent)

Defenders : Van Buyten (Olympique Marseille), Deschacht (Anderlecht), Van der Heyden (Club Brugge), Van Damme (Ajax), Valgaeren (Celtic), Deflandre (Olympique Lyon), Clement (Club Brugge), De Cock (Club Brugge)

Midfielders : Basseggio (Anderlecht), Goor (Hertha BSC), Simons (Club Brugge), Soetaers (Ajax), Walasiak (Standard Luik)

Forwards : Sonck (Ajax), Martens (Club Brugge), M. Mpenza (Excelsior Moekroen), Buffel (Feyenoord)

    Netherlands
Keepers : Edwin van der Sar (Fullham), Ronald Waterreus (PSV)

Defenders : Frank de Boer (Galatasaray), Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Arsenal), André Ooijer (PSV), Michael Reiziger (FC Barcelona), Jaap Stam (Lazio Roma), Boudewijn Zenden (Chelsea)

Midfielders : Ronald de Boer (Glasgow Rangers), Mark van Bommel (PSV), Paul Bosvelt (Manchester City), Phillip Cocu (FC Barcelona), Edgar Davids (Juventus), Marc Overmars (FC Barcelona), Clarence Seedorf (AC Milan), Wesley Sneijder (Ajax)

Forwards : Jerrel Hasselbaink (Chelsea), Pierre van Hooijdonk (Fenerbahce), Patrick Kluivert (FC Barcelona), Roy Makaay (Bayern München), Ruud van Nistelrooij (Manchester United), Rafael van der Vaart (Ajax)
