I was a writer. The trouble is that without meaning to appear arrogant, that's sometimes how you come across! Therefore some love you while others hate you...anyway I now earn more "working" for a living!!!
Are u suggesting that writing as a profession should not be considered to be working? If that is what your indeed saying it couldnt be further from the truth...especially if your writing for a major publication; having to worry about libel/defamation law suits, content, composition and structure, syntax and all of that. It is a whole lot of work!! and a whole lot of stress actually.

I kinda get Carlo D's point.Unless you're a J.KRowling or something,i dont think you can make a living out of writing.Just my opinion.

Bah. Someone asked and the book is virtually out of print. :p

And if you took my royalties and divided them up by the hours I put into it, I would have made 4x as much flipping burgers at McDonald's. :D

Well, you know what the life of an artist is like. They starve. Public intellectuals, on the other hand... often do too. :D

But you got only positive reviews on amazon :toast:

Why do you think I netted so little money on that deal?! :pumpkin:

Some of those Amazon reviewers have corporate Amex accounts. :(
