Yeah, look, we need to find an alternative to Marchisio. Either we buy someone or play a different formation because Hernanes is a ticking time bomb defensively and doesn't do enough to justify him playing in attack.

He is too slow and rarely knows where to be, but before everyone goes overboard, he improved in 2nd half. He actually played like a regista should on occasion and was making some very good long passes to spread play quickly. Knew where to be more and was decent building up our attacks (nonexistent defensively due to just way too slow...)

. But alas, you cant escape how slow he is, when he is closed down and doesnt have support, he is nervwrecking, but he grew into the game and became decent later. Worst was first half, 2nd part of it, didnt look like a footballer at all in that period, just someone who sneaked into the pitch looking around to see if he can keep up...

He need confidence just like Morata does.

Allegri hasn't played him enough, and generally don't rotate the squad enough, for us to compare him to Marchisio.

First half he was awful, the second he did much better with the ball but still a huge liability defensively. He lets attackers run past him too easily, especially when it is Cassano who isn't even fast, gives away stupid free-kicks and loses possession to easily in dangerous places.

Yeah he was alright, he can obviously do some nice stuff when he has time and space but his decision making and balance on the ball always worries me. Any pressure on him and you are in a bit of trouble, because he's not as cute as Pirlo nor does he have the range or vision to release the ball. For a Brazilian his first touch can be awful.

I don't know what his position is, maybe it's as a passing CM, someone like Tiago Mendes, but it makes little difference to us because he's not going to be first choice in any of our formations. Allegri thinks he is a regista above all else.

In the first half, when we gave away that freekick, there was a perfect example of this.

When the samp player (who he was supposed to mark, if it was zonal marking), got down into the defence, we had a replay from behind the goal, seeing the entire defence shifting and positionning to close him down

Meanwhile, Hernanes in the middle of the field is away from the action, jogging and looking left and right like "where am i and where should i be"
