Raiola is a shrewd agent. He probably advized him not to renew in order to squeeze a better deal as you get closer to the deadline.

You're right, although I don't see us being as keen on Mkhitaryan to make that move. We'll see, but AM seems like a luxury for us, looking at our early market moves.

What this would also mean is no 3-5-2 if he arrives.He'll no doubt start for us if he comes.

I guess thats why we are pushing for Gomes that hard.

We chased him last summer aswell as January, I'd be surprised if we didn't make a move again. He's exactly the type of player we need.
