Fucking squat at 75kg, I got shit scared of going deep today. I felt that if I go deeper one millimeter I would not be able to go up again, I did the first two sets alike that then I took of a 5kg and did the last set properly.

paused squats have helped my a lot in the hole.

disagree? :D i go heavy with everything for legs extensions, feel it more if i got the movement under control as opposed to just swing raising
It depends on how far you have progressed. I wont improve at all from leg curls, i need to do calculated overload squatting like smolov, or several different squatstyles per week like reactive training.

But in his case, it will improve his squat. Because he wont need to do a serious volume with alterations in style to cause microtrauma and IGresponse.

In his case, his squats will cause it, and everything that trains legs will also cause it but to a lesser degree. Furthermore he'll develop every musclegroup he'll need for stability around the knees and ancles, so yeah

He'll benefit alot from leg extentions and curls

I was told not to do Leg Presses if i was doing Squats as they were the same motion but because i couldn;t do squats on my leg day last week I used the leg press machine and was doing 5 reps of 85 kgs, whereas i currently Squat 60 kgs so i'm thinking I should include leg presses too, does that sound right?

(I currently do body weight lunges and squats to warm up, then 6 X 5 60kgs squats, calf extensions, hamstring curls, quad curls, glute extensions and then some hamstring stretches to cool down.)
Who told you that ?

Squatting targets the quadriceps, glutes(when done right), hamstrings(when done right) and hips to a high percentage.
Leg press targets the quags 100% and taxes other muscles too, but to a lesser extend.

You should definatly combine them. Squat is your main leg excercise. Leg press then hypertrophys the motherfucking quads to to limit.

You cant comprimise for fears jack. If you increase to a new weight, or you feel not confident that you'll make it, ask as spotter

If you are spotted like that, you can totally fail and the other guy will easely bring you up again.

Do any of you do endurance competitions? I was thinking about entering some cross country runs and I've entered some bike events for next season but I don't know how it will fit into my training/be detrimental.
