Plateauing is hitting periods of unproductive exercise eg. I lift weights but never grow. The reason for that is that your body eventually becomes accustomed to exercises and you need to change to different exercises and different methods of exercising.
But a question.... for example if i keep lifting more and more in the bench press, my chest is not forced to grow anyways?. Or there will eb a point that i will be lifting much more than now but have the same muscle?

I just got membership at a local gym. Starting going last week with a cousin of mine. I've never worked out this hard before. I've been sore as a mug for the past week.

I hate running with no purpose (if I'm playing something then I don't mind it) so I hope this will help me loose weight as well, which I've been told will happen.

Gaining strength and mass go hand in hand. If you're not getting stronger you won't get bigger.

i almost never do cardio, i sometimes do a high intensity 20 minute bike session and i compensate by not taking breaks during my lifting sessions, i have about 6-8 % body fat
Word, interval training once a week in conjunction with lifting weights and a good diet is all you need to have a low body fat percentage. Your fitness will be ok but not as good as it would be doing cardio the recommended 3 times a week.

There are many talks about cardio. They all say it's good but some say do it 3 times a week and some say don't do much cardio, if you start doing it on regular basis you will start loosing your mass which can make you strong but thiner...again it depends what you actually want to do with your body (if you must lose a lot weight avoid cardio is not so smart). So I very often hear people doing it once a week and 4-5 times a week weights and stuff.

What is it about cardio that makes you lose your mass? Maybe its that people don't change their diets to accord with there workout routine and their are insufficiencies of protein and carbohydrates for mass building. Otherwise, I see no direct link between cardio and loss of mass. You CAN have a built physique and do regular cardio. Some rugby players are massive and they're extremely fit.

You are absolutely spot on with that one, also alot of folks have a diet & eat the same food over & over again. The body needs various types of vitamins & having the same menu can seriously deprive your body.

My friends brother was on diet and every day he literaly ate same meals for a couple of months. Should I say that he ended in hospital, I never asked what him what happened, but I know that he had some kind stomach issues.

Btw. I finally got my sugar level in order and I think that I will start train on monday :weee:

I did in the past crazy died and also eat 6 meals instead of 3.
6 smaller meals i mean. I also did crazy cardio

The result was that i accelerated my metabolism, and the result was that i lost fat liek crazy... but in the end i lost too much of it...and i was not doing proper wights. I ended thin as hell and looked like if i had aids.

Ill not do that again.
