5 weeks since I started stronglifts 5x5 and what I thought was a fun programme is getting brutal to do. The 5 pound increase per training is nothing when you start at 50% but now its getting rough. The only place I cant seem to make progress is the overhead press.

Id recommend this to anyone Who can go to the gym three times per week.

I did 5x5 for like 3-4 months total. It was brutal as hell but the progress was incredible.

I aint hairy at all man. The most hairbi have is on my ny dick, other than that i am like a shaved teenage girl. The back of my legs have literally no hair at all and many times people ask me why do i shave and they are all amazed when i tell them i dont, that my legs are naturally gay....

You should have capitalized on the occasion and told her it's because gay guys suck your cock every chance they get and she doesn't. Maybe look a little sad while you say it too.

I'm kinda impressed, it's gotta be convenient being hairless in your body.

Anyone with squatting experience? Some input would be appreciated. @Dostoevsky @X @Zacheryah @Anyoneimighthavemissed

Two months ago i started squatting for the First time ever, and I think My technique is ok. Last week I was supposed to do 5x5 80kg and I had a really tough time getting down without bending way forward or falling backwards. It felt weird on My knees so I quit after the 3rd set. Today i did the 5x5 quite easily as i stood on a slightly tilted mat, elevating My heels about 2cm. Ive read everywhere that you should use flat shoes when lifting, but the slight angle made it so much easier to keep My back straight and extend correctly. So whats up, is it ok? Is It cheating? Is It bad for Something?

I've read that Elvis is alive.

Lifting equipment

Shoes with elevated heel
- When you squat down, your heels will lift off the floor unless you have godlike flexibility in your exceptionally long achillies tendon
- For 99.99% that dont, lifting shoes with elevated heel allow you to keep your heel on the floor.
- This makes you much more stable, and stand safer, and allows to "push through the heel", which as a result :
- Will greatly improve your form
- DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR MAX

Knee sleeves (SBD, Rehban, Warrior,...)
- Patella and quadricep joint need to be warm and slightly pressured for optimal performance, else they'll function below optimal and have a chance to get tendinitis when squatting alot of volume/frequency
- especially in cold enviroments
- Knee sleeves keep the joints warm and slightly pressured. its the single best equipment i've bought in my entire life, surpassing squatdoes, belt, wristwraps...
- DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR MAX

Knee wraps
- Knee wraps compress when squatting down, and add a great amount of rebound when going back up, increasing the weight you are able to squat :
- INCREASES YOUR MAX
- Used by powerlifters in "raw+wraps" or "equipped" competitions to squat more
- used by bodybuilders who perform partial squats to make sure they dont squat too deep as they cant manage a single full ROM squat as they are weak and pathetic faggets
- Dont use this.

Lifting belt
- What it is used for : Increases abdominal pressure, allowing a firmer posture. Usually this allows you to squat more because you can keep your posture more intact. When worn correctly, this means the belt is so tight you have trouble breathing through the stomache and will want to remove it as soon as the lift is finished
it also pressurises the S1 to L3 vertebra. Recovering from a severe L5-S1 discus hernia, i can easily deadlift 250sumo-280 conventional when using a belt (180-200 without), where as before the hernia i could do 310without 340 with belt when my discs where fine. Thats the only single thing a belt does. If you have shit for spinal erectors, it wont do anything to every vertebra above L3.
-what it is actually used for : to hide the gut and look good and be a fashion accecory that doesnt do shit. Basically : everyone thats not a strenght athlete
Increases your max, but who cares, use a belt

Thanks man. Great news for me - the squats felt super comfortable and composed today so I was really hoping it wasnt a cheat .

As for the equipment, I need to lift much more than 80kg before I start investing in that stuff, I think 😃

Edit: deadlift feels awesome by the way. For some reason Im making great progress there and the bench. Lifting 100kg next time and the first time I did it was 2 months ago.
