Would be unbearable to have Benitez as our coach, what a torture he can be. Would choose way less appealing options then Guus over him.

I am not saying it's wrong that you asked question, I answered your questions to continue the discussion.

As for the long term problems, I am totally with you. Guus is definitely not the answer here. But face it, not a single top manager is.

I consider the following as the best managers out there (they are all with a job except for Guus)

Ferguson, Mourinho, Ancelotti, Capello, Lippi, Hiddink.

None of these is a long term solution to any team. These are managers that bring you success now in order to build on it for the future.
Juventus are in need of a trophy and Hiddink can bring us the Europa League and maybe Coppa Italia. He will not bring us the Scudetto, he might not challenge Inter for it but the team needs the title that he can bring, even if it weren't a Serie A title.

Based on that victory a long term solution can be built. Without a victory, you simply cannot.
Now that's a good argument.

Can he turn this season around?
No, nor can anyone else, as they would not be given money on January to restructure the team. By that bringing in players to alter the tactics of the team. Without players who can play on the wings (I mean good ones) Juve will continue to struggle, as every team knows how to play against them.

So as a interim manager he will not bring about the success to build upon, so what would be the point.

I say what is needed is someone of strong will, great vision, stamina, and chutzpah to tackle the board.

long term? whats long term? this is not a retirement account, you miss CL two years in a row and you can be looking at a decade in the doldrums. My friend this has nothing to do with feelings, its all cold hard cash and cold hard facts.
His only club success was a decade ago: the Chelsea I discount for reasons given.

That's a bad feeling.

Benitez isn't shit. He has taken Liverpool twice to the CL final, I wouldn't mind that record for us right now.

You don't consider Wenger as a top coach? I think Arsene is one of the best out there.

So now we're at the point where we pick Hiddink's career apart and discover he's not really that good? He never stays at a club for very long?

Give me a break, we have a walking disaster leading the team and if we don't do anything we'll miss out on CL football for next year, and that would mean some serious trouble on the, mainly financial, horizon.

There simply aren't that many experienced, good coaches available and for me Hiddink stands out amongst the available ones. So people are getting a bit carried away by the idea of Hiddink, I agree, but anyone would get excited at the idea of someone with authority and a clue leading our team.
