He is over-rated, and all but a fool could have managed Chelsea: come on, by the way, the FA cup. Not the Champions league, the FA Cup.
He almost got them to the Champions' League Final. Then again, Ranieri managed to take them there. Hmmm...

Can you forget his successful season with PSV, didn't they play CL semi final? Not to forget his great work with national teams. Hiddink is not the best, but sure deserves all these praises. Can we take the very best in the game? I don't think so, they will ask around 10 million euros per year..

So since he left The Netherlands in the last century, he has won an Intercontental Cup, and the FA cup with mega-rich, mega-talented Chelsea.

So I ask again, what makes him the bee's knees around here?
Good question.

From what I gather, Hiddink has been really good at making "small" clubs (or countries) performing better than is expected of them, possibly building a great foundation for the future.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we recently have such a coach?

Not that I am against his possible arrival BUT let's not exaggerate his previous accomplishments.

That being said, what he did at Chelsea was quite impressive.

I think it was a great accomplishment to get Chelsea to the semi final of the Champions League last season. It would have been the final if they weren't meeting one of the best sides in history.

And the 'fool' that couldn't manage Chelsea before him, won the world cup. Although, I don't really rate him.

Are we going to completely overlook his ability to inspire players and drive a team froward?
I'm not doing that. At least I hope so.

What I'm saying is that we should be critical of his achievements. Based on what I read here, according to some he's the greatest manager to ever walk the earth.

Objectivity people!

He is a very good manager, I doubt anyone said he is the greatest. We can't get the greatest can we? The greatest coaches would pick very rich clubs, with open check book for the transfer market. Hiddink is not that, and he is exactly what we need right now.

Maybe we should start fining players for shitty performances,i'm pretty sure they would run for the entire game.
I like this idea. Maybe some kind of a pay-cut. I'm sure it would be much appreciated by the big-wigs at Fiat; they can pad their wallets a bit and lay off more people in Turin.

Sometimes I worry about this place.
I am questioning that statement that's all.

Where is the inspiration: Chelsea, they were the same team as the year before, and that of this year, so he didn't make any mistakes, but inspired, pushed them forward: I don't see that.

His international career consists of?

He's reputation lies in the last century, and I seen no evidence of his ability to mold a team tactically and buy and sell player.

As an interim I would take Trap anyday.

The above may very well be true.

All I'm saying is that Hiddink's record may not be as great as some people are making it out to be.
Yeah sure he didn't win premier league, Serie A or La Liga titles or CL, but he impressed almost anywhere he went. The good thing about him is, he checks the players he have, and make tactics based on what he has, and not the type of those who bring the best players in the game to fit in their "system". Not to forget, his tactics are very positive, I am sure our fans will enjoy watching his team.
