But it was an easy game for them. Oh and they were close, when Altidore hit the post. It was an excellent game by the Americans and it wasn't only a coincidence. They beat Spain and Italy in Confederations Cup and they deserved to win the whole thing in the end. They are a very good team and they managed to get a point playing against one of the best teams in the world.
But it's not a win. How can you be this happy about a draw?

England were the better team by the way.

Check out the World Cup general talk thread ;).

He's celebrating as if they're World Champions. In fact they barely tied against England, because the English goalie fucked up big time.
As an Azzurri fan, I would have been celebrating like crazy if they had managed to get a point against England to be honest :p

That point might very well guarantee them a qualification to the next round, why shouldn't they celebrate it?

People underestimated US, it's why they are happy now, rightfully so. It's England man, one point is huge for them and they should celebrate. It's not like they celebrate one point that they got against Honduras with 10 players on the pitch. Being worse or not doesn't change anything, as they got the point. It could have have been all three if Jozy's shot didn't hit the post too.

We were much better in the second half. We had some chances to pull ahead, but we did not take them. Shame on us. But we still played well against the supposed "best squad in the world" along with the best "manager" in the world taking the game to us.

Obviously, we should be happy with the performance.

Why? It was a draw. I thought you wanted to beat them?

People/media in general and specially in England expected a beat down and ass whopping of the Americans by the English. The Americans held their own, and I thought they moved the ball better than the English, but the only thing the English better is more effectiveness in the final third of the field, but their final touch was horrible. Enjoy it Andy, talk shit/talk trash and just live it up. You guys played a nice game and deserved it

The performance was good, especially in the second half. The result was good. I would have loved to beat them but that shall come another day.

Indeed. What I like about them is that I never see them wasting the time or complaining to the ref. They don't have great players but even the best teams would have a hard time playing against them. Oh and Tim Howard is excellent whenever I see USA play.

That was one of the most shocking games I've ever seen.

What were USA thinking of.

I only hope they go out in the opening stages, so that I don't have to look at this shirt longer than is necessary.

Thier player play with dignity and none of that usua; annoying tactics, and they aren't afriand and they are ready to mix it up with anybody, they have that kind of attitude that "they arenot better than us and we can't beat us" .Being mentally/pyschologically prepared is as important as physical/tactical preparations, and I feel the USA team is probably one of the best pyschologically prepared team in the tournament. Tim Howard is beast and deserves another run with a big team, he will fir right in with Arsenal and he show pure leadership that Arsenal desperately need

I've said time and time again, the best piece of business we could do is sell Buffon for 60M and sign Timmy for 10. Howard is an amazing keeper, one of the world's best. Top ten, probably.
