Higuain confirms Milan move
By Football Italia staff

Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain has confirmed that he will join Milan. “Leonardo convinced me…”

Higuain arrived in Milan on Wednesday night ahead of a medical the following morning, and the Argentine was greeted by Rossoneri fans en masse as he checked into the Westin Palace hotel.

“First I’ll sign and then I’ll talk. I’ll have my medical tomorrow and then I hope to sign,” he told reporters.

“I’m starting a new adventure. I wish to greet to all the [Milan] fans and also the Juventus ones who gave me so much love.

“Leonardo convinced me. I’ve already talked to Gattuso. I’m here to go as far as possible.”

The 30-year-old, who scored 55 goals in 105 games for Juve, should join the Diavolo on an €18m loan with a €36m option to buy next summer.

He is also likely to be followed to San Siro by Mattia Caldara, who looks set to swap clubs with fellow defender Leonardo Bonucci.

Been a big fan of this guy since his breakout year at RM in ‘08, I always hoped he would eventually play for us. We nearly got him in 2013 but finally landed him two years ago and loved his two years here. Would have loved for him to have gone to a better team, but cant really feel bad for a millionaire. Hope he keeps banging them in and Milan buy him outright. Fuck Bonucci.

What's the latest on the golden handshake deal. Are we really paying 1m a month for his salary? In which case, this loan deal will only land us 6m euros the first year. Seems like a compromise by the Marotta.
