I like Higuain and rate him highly but I'm also glad we got rid of him. Imo, he is incompatible with CR7 who is, I think you will agree, by far a better and more complete player.

2 CL finals 2 goals is good for Mandzu, he is fairly driven player so nothing intimidates him, but its also fairly circumstantial, and general CL output besides those two games is no better then Gonzalo whatsoever. Its not that complicated. I take the guy who has scored 32 goals and 38 goals in last two seasons easily over someone who can barely scratch double figures. 11 goals and 13 goals is the best Mandzu could do. The difference is SIGNIFICANT in end product.
Totally.

Higuain: 17 goals in 66 games in the CL
Mandzukic: 16 goals in 46 games in the CL

But other than that Higuain for 90m was a bargain. It's only been 66 games and he's still young, I'm sure he'll shake it.

There is no doubt that Mandzukic is made for big games, where Higuain on the other hand crumble 9 out of 10 times.

If you need a good goalscorer against usually smaller/weaker teams then Higuain is the man, Mandzukic might not score as much in those games, but he delivers when you need him

Still remember how he saved our ass at home against United in 2014, with an equalizer 1 min or so after their goal

That's a pretty good post, mate. How do Juventuz members treat you as a Bayern fan?

Of course. But you're talking about Ronaldo. If we had to choose between Piggy and Ronaldo, we'd pick Ronaldo too.

My biggest issue with him is that he does way too little in finals in terms of adding to our overall game. I understand that you miss a few chances because the pressure is getting to you. It doesn't help that everyone describes you as a choker either. So I could forgive him for his lack of goals in finals. But it's not just that. He completely disappears.

I think all this hate towards Higuain will really end up pushing him to another level. At times in the past he has seemed satisfied but at this rate he is going to have an awful lot of anger. Kinda like when Sarri insulted him at Napoli and he broke records after that

We can only hope. Right now he is in such bad shape that he really shouldnt play. This is the first time Ive said this as I feel he was decent for us last season.

Every Argie I know hates his guts. Way too many missed clear chances at finals. And knowing how passionate South Americans are when it comes to Football, to redeem himself he would have to win them a World Cup Maradona style.

If you want to play without him(no chance will happen) with todays roster you have to completely change formation. Its not only about him. Its about 11 players adapted on this 4231 formation we play second year.

That was obvious even before we signed him.

But back then, people were too busy being overcome with joy. "He's the missing piece."
Who said that? A lot of people criticized the prize. I said we overpaid and Marotta should be fired, if we didn't win the CL. I said that, cause it was clear he was bought to win us the CL. We won a double and made it to the final. Most of us didn't believe that was possible, because of how average we looked in Serie A. Despite of looking average, Higuain managed to do better, in Serie A, than most Juve legends. Even in his first season. Was he the player we thought we bought? No. Was he worth his price? No. Was he a big part of us winning the double and reaching a CL final? In my opinion, yes.
This team also has the capability to kill most strikers instinct for goals.
