I mean it could help if we could actually service our only out and out striker in these sort of games but yes if we continue to play on the counter, whip in 3 crosses per game and lack consistent quality through balls then Higuain might as well be Matri.

Ah yes, the predictable Higuain complaints after we lose.

I would agree with the point that we aren't playing in a way to suit him. I was under the impression we would get the ball into the box more often this season, the guy isn't getting any chances.

Raped ?

We played a great first half and forced Real to change their tactics from diamond shape to a flat midfield
Then Pjanic + Mandzukic fell out and Khedira failed to cover the spaces. Zidane saw it and moved Isco deeper.

We got raped cause two key players fell out and we had zero replacement for them.

We got Matuidi now. Imagine if we had him last year.

If he's the one pointed out after this it just doesn't make any sense.... Max tactics was wrong, Max formation was wrong, Max selection player was wrong, De Sciglio was De Sciglio, Sturaro is as good as RB as I'm like a Pope, Benatia played bad, Costa wasn't there, Betancur played as it was expected

I don't rate Pipa as much as some here does but today performance was a lot more relate to the team than him

we knew before he even came what kind of team we have, and what approach we have in these european games. we lacked a different player than him, someone who would fit into our system, not someone we must change the way we play to make him work

I have to be clear that Higuain has very clear and strong talents. With balls in the box, on the ground, there are hardly any better around. There are certain teams and formations that he makes a big difference for.

But it is becoming clear that he and Dybala cannot play together against the very top teams. It's too much of a sacrifice in athleticism and work rate to accommodate. Since he provides nothing in the air and nothing on the counter, then it makes sense to use Dybala in that position.

Now if you put him at the top of Heynckes Bayern or something, where you have a maniac like Muller at CAM and tricky wingers constantly supplying service, it's possible he scores even more than Lewandowski. But this situation is not a reality.

Well considering the way we play would only really benefit from a rapid energetic ST which is ironically the type of ST we avoid like the plague, we should consider changing our approach. It's not like we risk not winning the CL.

That's what fucks me off we get a goal machine in his prime and play this shit. I feel bad for him tbh. Would be best for both parties if we sold him next Summer if this is how we approach the biggest games.
