So we're more or less the same age. The idea of Messi being the best of all time has been exaggerated all because of his stats/awards. But what many, mostly younger people seems to forget is comparing players from different eras simply can't be done.

If you're really seem Maradona like I did, and all those others, like I also did, you realized football was as tough as it could be. The times I've seen something skilled players like Maradona back in the day almost getting their legs broken was just too many. Referees didn't protect anyone no matter how famous, something they do today. Defenders didn't hold back. What is certainly a red today was a yellow card, if that, back then.

You can't tell me the best player of all time is the one who cries over being tackled just a little bit in South America. He wouldn't survive what Pelé went through in 66', what Maradona got from Goikoetxea. Hell, do yourself a favor and rewatch the 78' WC final, it was a bloodbath. Messi and his modern counterparts wouldn't have one lasted one half.

He's a soft player for a soft generation of weak defending, angel guarding referees and a player that will never do anything worthy outside Barcelona. Great talent, one of the best for that reason. Of all time? $#@! that, Pelé and Cruyff were true revolutionaries and Maradona a monster at any level, any club.
I am sorry but that is some bullshit. The truth is that the game has evolved. Players are now faster, stronger, technically better with better stamina. They play in smaller spaces in a higher tempo. In absolute terms the players today are superior to those 10 years ago and certainly to the players 20 years ago.

If we are talking about players in there era, nobody has been as dominant and as consistent as Messi. Other players has been just as brilliant but in shorter time spans. For instanse I will never forget the 1986 world Cup. DM's performance is the best I have ever seen by any player. But again Diego had more ups and downs than Messi.
For me it is really a shame that people are so busy hating on Messi, that they dont realise they are having the privilege of seeing somebody out of this world perform. When his career is over I am certain that he will be remembered as the best of all time.

Maybe it is wrong for me to comment on Pelé, Crueff etc. As I have never seen them play.

Lewa, easy

Defenders are Cannavaro, Nesta, Maldini, Cafu, R. Carlos, of the ones i have seen
Have to agree. Thuram is up their too imo amazing player also scored 2 goals in a worldcup semi final. Peak Zambrotta was the best LB in the world in 2003. But the players you mention are the best of all time. I cant comment on anyone before the 90s.

Only a bored tuzer would argue against it.
How exactly does Higuain offer more to his team than Lewandowski does?

Are we talking about assist/vision?

free kicks?

Penalties?

Heading?

dont get me wrong, I like Higuain and rate him as a striker a lot actually. But I got a hard time to see how he is better than Lewandowski.

On top of that the pole delivers on the big stage and is there when it matters. That said he can be a giant douchebag on the pitch at times though

Here we go, could you post videos of some of that famous barca game as well. Thanks

This is not your fight buddy, in reality they are more or less on the same level. I prefer pipita because he's very strong with his left foot and ..

Makes space for Dybala.

Higuain a top striker  don't make my shoes laugh

Compared to Suarez and Lewandowski he is a joke. Only performs in a baby league against baby teams. Fails in NT, fails in CL, fails in every important tournament KO round

I dont which Barca games you are talking about, but okay

and not to forget this

Even back in his Dortmund days he was a world class striker, but since he joined Bayern Munich he just raised a level or two really, became even more complete

Like I said I like Higuain and Lewandowski is a way bigger douchebag than him on the pitch but thats it. His football skills you cant question, the same with Suarez

Whatever you are saying it applies to Higuain as well. I'm not sure what you are trying to prove posting all this videos. I just answered your question.
