Well I wouldnt pass much to him either if he always ran himself into 3 bodies and lost the ball. Not to mention he wasnt exactly the most mobile player out there, not easy to pass to a cf thats moving so little
Then again, Dybala.was just as poor as he was. And maybe Bonucci-Chiellini did even worse, so no, hes not entirely to blame for.the loss. But he surely played a bad game.

It was a missed shot. Best build up pass in that play was Alex Sandro acrobatic last inch volley cross, but Higauin controlled it superbly and layed it off to a player more free, yeah Mandzu scored a freak goal. But how is actively building up a goal not as good if not better then a missed shot?

Its pointless to moan about Higuain after this season. I would get if Higuain missed a sitter from 1 feet against Madrid. That wasnt the case. And he didnt get the service.
Haters will say but u would expect 90m striker to score hattrick on his own in the final. Blame the management for going after Higuain then. Lets not kid ourselves, he is known to miss big chances in finals. But against Real, he didnt really have big chances.
I never expected Higuain to be the difference maker. I was disappointed by Dybala more. Yes his young, first final bla bla. Didnt have impact. Didnt connect with Higuain or others. After the Barca performance and the nice moves against Monaco i expected him to be confidence high and be the turning point in the game. Almost like a young prodigy who Real just dont know how to take control off. Instead he was nowhere to be seen. Morata did it. Same age! Dybala didnt. Next Messi....
But of course there were other players who didnt play well, like Khedira. 2nd half of course everyone was bad apart from maybe Alves.

I'm saying Higuain did not create that goal, he kept the ball in play, Mandžukič didn't have a goalscoring opportunity, he scored from a position that no one is going to score from regularly. Yeah it is an assist technically, but in reality he didn't create that goal, Mandžukič created and scored all by himself.
In the case of Tevez, without that "missed shot" as you like to call it, Morata wouldn't get a chance to tap it in a free net, that goal was 80% Tevez and 20% Morata being in the right spot at the right time. Tevez didn't have a good game 2 years ago, but he wasn't half as useless as Gonzalo was in the 2nd half. What's the point of having a big and relatively slow CF if he can't protect the ball? Higuain did literally nothing positive in the 2nd half, couldn't keep the ball, couldn't press defenders, didn't make any runs for our passers to pick out. Anyone capable of running and holding up ball would've had a bigger impact on the game in the 2nd half, and these types of players you can buy for 15m not 90. Gonzalo was simply slower, weaker and less intelligent (or simply more exhausted, but still, that's his responsibility) than those marking him.

We conceded 4 times and he got an assist. He tested Navas a couple times from chances he created himself and he was dispossessed easily a couple times as well. Everyone could be right and he might be a bottler but there was no proof of that on Saturday. We simply weren't good enough to get to the point where a striker would make the difference one way or the other.
If you want to say that Dybala should play strictly as our #9 with wingers and CMs around him then I can see that point and have thought of it myself seeing as how Higuain presents no more danger in the air than Dybala does and also seems unwilling or possibly instructed to avoid build up play.
There still seems to be an uneasy fit between Higuain and Dybala which I don't think can be fixed with Dybala playing as a #10.
Is the solution to sell Higuain and invest immediately in CMs and wingers? Part of me wishes that were the case just to modernize the team but I doubt there is a chance in hell that it occurs. If we had our 2015 team then I would be searching for someone like Higuain, but we don't have that team anymore and can we get it without shifting the pieces up front?
